Smoke and Shadow Part 1 out Tomorrow September 23rd in Comic Stores!

It has been over 10 months since the last comic came out (The Rift Part 3 in November 2014), far and away the longest break between the end of one comic series and the start of another, but at last the wait is over. Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 23rd 2015 is the comic store release date for “Smoke and Shadow Part 1” the first part of a brand new series.

If you are ordering online or if you do not have a comic store nearby, then the mass market release date is October 6th.

Here is the cover so you know what to be on the lookout for tomorrow.

Here is the preview description in case you are only just hearing about this series.

The Fire Nation is threatened by a prophecy told by the Kemurikage, mysterious figures thought only to exist in legend: remove Zuko from the throne, or the country will perish!

Avatar Aang and his friends escort Zuko and his family back to the capital, completely unaware of the looming threat growing in the city. Unrest is brewing as the New Ozai Society prepares to make its move against the crown, and children begin to go missing from their homes under mysterious circumstances!

Finally check out the first 12 pages of the book here and my early non spoiler review here.

Look out for my updated review including spoilers as well as a full podcast review/analysis.

Will you be picking the book up tomorrow?

But they said it will be out 6th October…

    Airspeed Prime Reply:

October 6th is the mass market release date, comic stores ALWAYS get comics before regular book stores and Amazon. Usually 13 days before, hence September 23rd.

okay I looked through smoke and shadow and I can say this Kei Lo is Asami from season 1 LoK

    Airspeed Prime Reply:

I initially went “Huh” not having any idea of the connection, but as I compared them in my mind I could only say “You are not wrong there”.

I still think there is a lot more to be told about Kei Lo in the upcoming parts, which should help to make him a bit more unique.

    So Reply:

i would say it’s like Asmai with a little bit of Jet from book 2

    Dom Reply:

So Zuko is now Korra, Kei Lo is Asami and Mai will become second Mako great it’s like Season 1 and 2 of LoK all over again :/

Is it me or is Mai acting strangely in this whole story

    Airspeed Prime Reply:

From what I have seen, most people are very happy with Mai’s portrayal in the book.

Does anyone know if part 1 can be read online yet? And if so, please could they send me and everyone else who is trying to read it online but hasn’t been able to yet, a link of the website?

    Oh never mind… I found a site.

    Airspeed Prime Reply:

Had to edit your post, we do not allow links to read the comic online illegally, this site supports the official release of the book.
