New voice actors revealed for Avatar the Legend of Korra
The identities of two new voice actors for Avatar The Legend of Korra have recently been revealed. Most notable is Robert ‘Bob’ Paulsen who is most well known for his role as Raphael in 1987′s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Pinky from Pinky and the Brain.
Rob Paulsen is confirmed to be a voice actor in Avatar The Legend of Korra, playing Raphael from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Pinky from Pinky and the Brain, Rob is a big name in the voice acting industry. Chances are he will play a comical character similar to Sokka, possibly Meelo.
Considering his previous characters chances are he’s going to be playing a more comical character similar to Sokka, my guess is the fairly confirmed character “Meelo” but that’s just a guess, he could be playing anyone.” Chances are high that he’s going to be a playing a major character since he is such a big name in the voice acting world.
Robert Paulsen also mentioned in a twitter post that he has been working with Eva Marie-Saint, (A Christmas Carol, Superman Returns [Clark Kent's Mom]).” I don’t have any solid guesses as to who she’ll play, possibly Korra’s Mom or Grandmother, or maybe even an old version of Katara (during a flashback of course because we know Katara will be dead in Korra).
Pinky and the Brain and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were some of my favorite shows growing up, so this is definitely some exciting news!” Looks like Korra is shaping up to have a stellar cast.

I am very happy that we are getting loads of new(to Avatar) voice actors, should make the show very unique as ATLA was with some brand new talent.
Also hope we get more returning VA’S

I’m especially happy Dante Basco will be offering his voice. He is such a talent. I was really bothered to find out that he wanted to play Zuko in the movie and was turned down.

Because Voice director for Avatar The Legend Of Korra, Andrea Romano said in an interview that all the ATLA people we know have passed on and it is now the next generation.
We may see some of them in flashbacks, and it way not be everyone.

Its a shame that Katara and the rest of the character wont be in there, I hope they do something about that.

Yea I understand all of team Avatar being dead in this next generation…however they should change the timeline to it being AT LEAST 100 years later rather than 70-75 years later…to dispel any doubts/complaints they may have and such.

All they need to do is give a decent explanation of why they died so young, if it is just that the efforts while on their journey to Bring balance to the world has shortened their lives , then i am Fine with that , it makes sense
If they did 100 years later then that would bring up the opposite situation, Why did they all live so Long, i think the 75 years at the moment is perfect.

and its the average life span of a person. And also, people are wondering why Aang died so young for an avatar.. well you also have to realize he spent 100 of it in the iceburg

Yeah that’s the reason mike and Bryan have given so far for aangs relatively short life span.
Well, we all need something to complain about. There’s just so much about Iroh’s past that I’d like to learn about.

Yes, Iroh’s past is probably the Biggest thing from Avatar that was just not revealed at all,
We know that he was chosen as worthy by Ran and Shao and that he entered the Spirit World but his timeline is confusing at the moment, Iroh’s past would work great as a Comic series or a mini series(4 episodes or so) on tv.

I was watching Avatar with the extras and they spelled it Shaw is it Shao or Shaw?

Airspeed Prime Reply:November 28th, 2010 at 5:20 am
It’s Shao, Don’t believe Avatar Extras most of that is completely wrong.
Tracy Reply:November 28th, 2010 at 4:24 pm
Thanks for clearing that up. Some of those extras and even the books get sketchy, the writers and artists, too. I mean, I read in the book Zuko was 17.
Also, I had fun watching Zuko’s ponytail get longer and shorter in each episode.
That’s one thing I wondered, his hairstyle change, did he shave his head because of his shame or was it just to look cool?

What I think they will do is, first of all I don’t think they are going to come out blantly in the story and say “Well since none of the original characters are not alive in Legends of Korra” What I think they should do Is first of all make some short references. Not too much because there trying to get you hooked on the characters in Legends of Korra. Secondly they should have an episode decicated to the original characters like Korra finds some shrine or something that makes sense to the story then and there, but also have her see some of the characters in statues or something, or items laying around if you pay close attention when you are watching the episode, makes it more exciting, kinda like easter eggs. It wouldn’t be fun if Korra just came out and say “Hey look at this” (holding up the arm band that Toph wore). Or in more than one episode.

Well Andrea Romano has already said that,LOL.
But I think that flashback episode will happen, probably if she meets Aang as her Avatar Guide, he will tell her about his life and his friends. I would love that.

Yeah If I recall, I mention the first one awhile ago. In the Legends of Korra group. But I totally like the second one that would be awsome.

well with the first 12 mini episode already in such depth, knowing the animals were hybrid, do they have any ideas for this? or will animals be key here as well? i thought they played a minute, but a important roll too.

I suppose it is easier to just tell how the gaang died relatively young than to increase the time span, heh. Altho not all of the gaang had excuses to die young..i.e. Katara or Toph..even Sokka and Suki..Sokka endured minor injuries in the last episodes..Katara didn’t endure any..neither did Toph or Suki. So they are going to have a hard time explaining that and for it to make sense. I mean I’m sure Bumi had hardships but lived over 100 years…if they are going to use that..then they will have to make the connection of WHY each one died young because I don’t think their “travels” in the war by itself will cut it. I mean for Aang, Sokka and Zuko sure..they endured the worst of it physically..but we’ll see.

I hope Meelo lives up to Sokka’s comical experience. Sokka was AMAZING XD

Sokka is one of a kind. It’d be nice if Jack DeSena had a guest spot, too.

Kitama Reply:December 28th, 2010 at 7:43 pm
It would be nice. And Sokka is a one of a kind. So is Toph. That’s the only reason why I’m so sad about it. Because it’s new characters and all. Thouh, I wonder what happened to aang after 70 years for him to die, since Korra is the new Avatar…hm…
It will never measure in the same way as ATLA because we grew with those characters. I think it could be just as good though! I wouldn’t want it to be a carbon copy of the original. I’ll probably always be biased to the first, but I have a hunch that The Legend of Korra will be pretty darn good. I also wonder if we’ll be introduced to more hybrid animals. I hate that we have to wait so long for it. I want every ounce of news about it. I’m looking forward to it.
