Old Wounds will be the first Korra episode to be written by a women, Katie Matilla, who wrote the Beach and was a writers assistant on book Air as a whole.

SPOILERS. SPOILERS. SPOILERS. SPOILERS. Do not read if you haven’t watched the newest episodes. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I was really really annoyed when Korra just learnt metal bending at a snap of her fingers, she literally could metal bending within thirty seconds of touching the meteorite. But that’s the problem with Korra, she doesn’t GROW as a person when she learns this new techniques, there is no shift in her thinking.

When Aang became an earth bending, he grew so much as a person, he learnt it was necessary to stop running away from his problems, fleeing would only make the problem worse. But Korra she doesn’t grow at all, maybe her new skill could of been tied in with Lin and her sister’s resolution. Maybe she could of played a bigger part in establishing the relationship between the two sisters and that taught her something about metal bending, that everything is connected and Lin’s past in connected to her future or something of that sort.

    Airspeed Prime Reply:

Well the thing about Korra is that she has always been a prodigal bender, she was reasonably proficient in Water, Earth and Fire at 4 years old, no problem at all grasping these elements.
Her issue with Airbending was a block related to it being opposite her personality, she learned very quickly after that.
So for me is makes complete sense that an ability that is mainly just difficult in practise and not something she needs to adapt her whole personality to, is one she can adapt to quickly.
Bolin will be where we get our struggling airbender, as it seems to be more of an important journey for him.
