Do you think it would be a good idea for someone to make The Legend of Korra into a movie?

That would be awesome but I agree with the avatar lol. I believe more of the story needs to be put out before they think of making one out of LOK.

@avatarolivia Actually, I think a LOK movie would turn out much better than any ATLA movie for one reason only: each book is shorter, more compact, and straightforward. All the major plot points are more easy to see and I think it would turn out a better movie.

I’m not sure any movie company is brave enough to do another ATLA/TLOK due to the huge amounts of negative fan reactions – even 2 years after the movie came out folk are still spreading the hate that isn’t necessary…. >_< …

Though personally part of me, would love to see more of the ATLA and even TLOK worlds brought into live acton there is another part that's just like… please don't lol….

Finding the right folk to play the characters would also be a great challenge and getting the fans support for those characters would also be another full on challenge indeed.

Bryan and Mike both mentioned that they would love to do a full length movie feature Animation Movie… so one never knows maybe after doing the series they do a Korra Movie…. oooooo, that would be awesome :)

as soon as I posted I then quickly did the maths… It takes 9 months to do a 12 – 13 episode season/book… we have 3 to go…. they are around 3-4 months into book 2…. so that leaves at least another 13 or so months (without breaks) to go on the tv series. If they did a feature film, this would take more than 9 months due to the huge amount of work a movie takes compared to a TV show…. so we could be looking at around 2016 before we see a movie if it happens from Mike and Bryan…. I could live with that ;) lol… a good way to keep my habit extended out indeed! :) …..

I’d even put money into it in shares if they were going to as I think it would be very successful indeedy! Better yet, would sooooo love to work on a huge project like that… I would love to be Andrea’s assistant please ;)

I think it’s possible, but it all depends on how many people watches TLOK and how popular it is. Now there are lots of people, that love this cartoon, so if the other books have the same amount of viewers like ATLA, we could see the film too :D But now I’m waiting more for the other books, TLOK is awesome! ;D

@grettullka I don’t think populatrity is a problem. Not only do you have a super hard-core fan base behind LoK, it also ranked Number 1 every single week in the 12-17 viewer bracket. Ahead of every primetime show. I think it averaged somewhere around 4.5 million viewers a week, but I can remember exactly. But in other words, IT’S FREAKIN POPULAR.

This is a signature about things.

Ok so was surfing through my tumblr dashboard when one of my sources placed this on their dashboard…

    http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/08/17/the-legend-of-korra-the-movie

IGN is usually quiet reliable source… however, no comment from our beloved Creators Mike and Bryan… Though in the TLA movie behind the scenes on the blu-ray I think or was it the Collectors ED of Bk 1 interview…. that was released for TLA… any way I recall the guys saying that they would dearly love to be given a go at doing a feature length movie in some part of their career …. though bear in mind if this was to happen… it wouldn’t be in the next 3-4 years due to work on the TV series and don’t think Nick would be keen for them to halt production on the TV show to do a movie which could take years anyway…. :) …. will keep my ear to the ground….
