With all the recent buzz about the trilogy still alive, and M. Night recently talking about TLA2, I’m definitely happy for M. Night….but it would be unfair & unjust if M. Night has to make TLA2 be a sequel to the version of the movie that’s NOT the Original True Version he made for the fans. (I’m talking about the version he filmed in 2009 before Paramount/Viacom forced him to do the all the reshooting in early 2010 just so the movie could be shorter for sake of cheaper 3D conversion)
Maybe there’s still a chance to convince Paramount/Viacom to let M. Night release his original epic version of the movie before he starts making TLA2….That way, he can make TLA2 follow his Original Version, and he won’t have to do any strange rewritings, especially the whole Sokka/Suki dynamic that he most certainly filmed for the 1st movie.
Follow the instructions on this YouTube video (and help spread it around wherever you can) to help save the trilogy:

Make sure to have your letters call this new version the “Extended SPECIAL EDITION”…that way, Paramount/Viacom should be able to understand that you do NOT just want to see the theatrical version with extra footage in it. You want to see the Original Version that M. Night filmed back in 2009…..OR (for those who prefer the theatrical version) you could tell Paramount/Viacom to consider a “third version” included on the DVD/Blu-Ray that combines M. Night’s original version with the theatrical one…For example, this “third version” could have the Original version of the movie, but with he fish-stabbing from the re-shoots, since that is probably the one change that’s actually preferred, ALONG WITH the Sokka/Yue kiss redo)
By the way, if you’ve never heard of this “original version” of the movie before, I suggest you buy these 3 books. They’re all based on M. Night’s original screenplay, which was loved by the show’s creators:
Novelization: http://www.amazon.com/Last-Airbender-Movie-Novelization-Avatar/dp/1442401745 (it’s the cheapest of the 3, at less than $1)
Graphic Novel: http://www.amazon.com/Last-Airbender-Dave-Roman/dp/0345518551
Trial By Fire (Zuko’s POV): http://www.amazon.com/Trial-Fire-Last-Airbender-Movie/dp/1442402903/
Once you read those 3 books, go re-watch the YouTube video and you’ll see that the Special Edition matches M. Night’s original script.
