    Too bad I can’t read books without losing it, if I could I would have been glad to read the Dune novels.

    But who am I kidding, I’ve never been a reader, or a gamer for that matter.

    I actually set a goal for myself a few days ago to read as many classics as I can – my list consisting of: the Catcher and the Rye, Ethan Frome, Gone with the wind, The Great Gatsby, Jane Eyre, Lord of the Flies, Of Human Bondage, Pride and Prejudice, Tess of the D’Urbervilles, Wuthering Heights, Tristine and Isolde, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King, Animal Farm, The stand, Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, IT, Guilty Pleasures, and V.
    I’m currently finishing up A Tale of Two Cities – which is ‘eh’ so far; the characters are undeveloped and I feel like Carton’s going to sacrifice himself for Darnay which is depressing.
    My usual preference for novels is teen fiction but I thought that I’d take a break from it for awhile and expand.

    I’ve recently finished the first book of the trilogy “The Hunger Games” (Suzanne Collins) and I liked it a lot, I recommend it.

    Now I’m with another trilogy, “The Left Hand of God” (Paul Hoffman).

    After that one I will probably get the second of “The Hunger Games”.

    Princess Yue: “But, you have to! You’re the Avatar!”
    Aang: “I’m just one kid.”

    I just finished all 3 Hunger Games books a few weeks ago, IMO an excellent series, the quality goes down a bit with each book, but nothing too bad.
    All 3 are excellent books, but I have to say Book 1 is definitely the best.

    I just finished a re-read of The Wheels Of Fire series by Mercedes Lackey.

    After finishing the second book of The Hunger Games trilogy, “Catching Fire”, I just started “The Shadow of the Wind” by the Spanish writer Carlos Ruiz ZafĂłn, and I’m liking it a lot, is very well written.

    That is an ambitious list! Would you be willing to try other novels? I majored in English, so I always have readings to recommend.
    Please let me know how your listed readings pan out…they might be next on my list!! :-)

    I recently finished the memoirs of Lucrezia Borgia, named “Poison in the Blood”, which I really liked.
    Currently, I’m reading “A Song of Fire and Ice” (or better known as “Game of Thrones”), book 3: “A Storm of Swords”. All I can saw is “WOW.”

    @julla

    I think the third book is the best of “A Song of Ice and Fire”, I loved it.

    But I must warn you, the fourth book “A Feast for Crows” has a lower quality comparing with the other books.

    @arthan

    Do you mean action-wise?
    Some people complained about the lack of violence, but if it ties up loose ends, then I’m OK with that.
    Are you able to elaborate for me?

    It’s been a while since I read it but I remember that it took me a bit to carry on reading the book, most of the chapters are slow and only the last part has the same interest from the other books and really hooks you.

    The story is contemporary with a part of “A Dance with Dragons” since George R.R. Martin had planned making 2 parts of book 4, but finally put the second part in book 5.

    I don’t know if you want a more detailed explanation however.
