I found controversial news about the Mac vs PC subject.

Now Microsoft makes a comparison between a Mac and PCs with a Windows OS in a webpage.

You can take a look here:
    Do the Math.

I heard that in the U.S. Apple Macs are more common than PCs, is it true?

Do you have a Mac or a PC?

    I’m a PC :)

Princess Yue: “But, you have to! You’re the Avatar!”
    Aang: “I’m just one kid.”

iMac all the way! and would never go back to PC personally….

However have to use crappy pc’s @ work :( They are consistently crashing and are unstable at the best of times they drive me insane!

I use to have a pc, till it crashed once too often and the processing time for my graphic work… arghhhh…. don’t even go there! So I changed back to mac… my first time using a mac was @ my school, when I was 15… An Apple 2e they were huge! I wrote my first simple program on it during my lunch breaks, to get away from the bullies that had made my life hell… a teacher smuggled me into the computer lab one lunch time to give me a rest from the bullies, and I feel in love with the awesome machine one of the other picked on geeks showed me how to work. They said that I was a natural… actually it was the photographic memory of show me once and I’ll repeat it perfectly back to you , (though we didn’t know it at the time…) that got me the full time pass for every lunch break I had remaining in that school, to the computer lab…. My first program was a re-birthing fractal…. in the lovely glowing green :) ahhh the good ole days….

When I finally saved enough for an imac desktop 5 years ago, (and it’s still going strong :) ) It felt like the best investment I’ve ever done… the funniest thing – my husband a PC user has brought 2 computers and about to buy his 3rd in the 5 years I’ve had my imac…. hmmmmmm…. mine might of been more expensive… mine you, I ‘suped’ mine up big time LOL… however, he’s ended up spending more money in less time… lol…. ironic really :D

and just remember… Bill Gates brought into Mac shares, stole alot of the Windows 7 OS just so they can finally catch up with the rest of the mac users ease of use :D

@donnagardner We are kindred spirits, Donna. Mac all the way. Nicky ruined a few of mine, even when the disc drives were damaged, I was still able to use them.

We have 3 PCs and 2 Macs so far.

I’m a PC user at home and at work, but sporadically I have to use a Mac at work.

You Apple fans probably have an Ipod, Iphone, Ipad and other Ithings, isn’t it? :P

@arthan I’ve been told I can get a free ipad for Nicky because of his autism, but I don’t know if I feel right doing that.

Well Tracy, I think you must go for it. This kind of social help is for being used in my opinion.

BTW, I don’t know if some of this software could be of any use, but recent Spain news told about a father who developed a software because of the communication problems with his autist child, it’s for Ipod, Ipad and Iphone, the link:
    http://www.ablah.org/

Another software I found, this time from the USA:
    http://www.jabuguin.com/maineng.htm

You probably don’t need any of these programs, but perhaps you know someone who need them.

@arthan You don’t think I am taking advantage of his disability? I mean, I wouldn’t be the one using it. I have my computer, but there are programs that will give free iPads for autistic kids. I just didn’t know if I was exploiting my son’s illness… Okay I am beating around the bush. It’s the pride thing. Accepting something for free. But if he would benefit from it, I suppose that would be a good thing. It’s just that on twitter, I’ve seen parents who get free stuff for their autistic kids and you know what? They use the stuff themselves, they milk their kids disability for all its worth and that bothers me.

@dragon1 No, this particular place is legitimate, other parents have received free iPads from there as well.

No your not taking advantage of his disability, you probably have to sacrifice a lot to take care of Nicky, this place is obviously there to help families/people who otherwise would not be able to get stuff like that , nothing helps people through hard times better than FUN and Ipods/ipads are fun.

Arthan doesn’t think your taking advantage , he just meant that if you can, go for it, anything you can do that can help ,do it.

@airspeed Yes, I guess you are right. It’s that pride thing. There are people who get free trips to Disney World etc. and that kind of stuff bothers me, especially when there are people out there who need more important things.

One time, I talked about taking Nicky to a Comic Con to one of the parents and asked if he could look into it (Meaning–stimuli etc.) He asked me if I meant fund raising and how I could raise funds for it. I was horrified. I’m on a fixed income, if I were to take Nicky to a con, it would be from a renter’s rebate or saving money. To ask people to donate money for something like that makes my stomach turn. It feels wrong.
