I may be wrong as I have never made one, but it seems just some basic video and audio editing.

You would have the episodes of whatever shows downloaded, then you load the episode with the clip you want in the video editing software and cut the clips out, repeat for every clip you want.
Then edit the clips together in the correct order, put whatever effects and writing over it and finally add your music over the top.

I use Windows movie maker and I think I could make one in there if I wanted to. So I assume any editing software would work.
Use Audacity to edit any music and Audio you want.

    Hope that helps.

That helps, but the only problem i have is the video part. I DO have the episodes on dvd, but are restricted for video i think. Ive tried everything but i cant get video clips. Other than that i think i can make one. I really do need to get the show videos though

A quick google search of how to get video from DVD’s brings up a lot of different free programs to get the video from dvd to computer.
I assume one will work for you, that said I really do not know much about ripping video from dvd

    @aangfan
That “wanna see” should be a “Have to see” :)
im just kidding u dont have to, but haruhi wont dissapoint you. This is a very well made show that really digs deep.
Now i just wanna say one thing. Yes the video makes it seem like just some lovey dovey anime but it is MUCH MORE than that. It is a slice of life, sci fi comedy and is truly something that gets to your heart. Also There is an amazing movie called the disapperance of Haruhi Suzumiya, but sont watch it until you finish the show. There are 2 different ways of watching it. The way it was aired (which is out of order) and Chronologically. The first way only applys to the first season, so i wouldnt bother. Just watch them chronilogically, which actually combines season 1 and 2 together, because season 2 has intertwining plot lines.

    Heres a basic summary

the first day of high school a beautiful girl named Haruhi Suzumiya introduces herself as having “no interest in ordinary humans”. She asks for any aliens, time travelers, sliders or espers to join her. Watching her weird behaviour is Kyon who sits in front of Haruhi and is the only person who talks to her. When Kyon comments about Haruhi’s joining every club in school and then quitting he unwittingly gives Haruhi an idea to start her own after school club. Thereafter Kyon and several others find themselves dragged, literally, into the Save our world by Overloading it with fun Suzumiya Haruhi’s Brigade (the S.O.S. Brigade for short).

And there you go enjoy :)

@gemini530 I love the AMV’s of fans work on ATLA and some of them are really wicked like the one you’ve posted! Love that they used Fort Minor Remember the Name as the background music… a lot of ATLA AMV’s use Linkin Park too… sooo yummy :)

    my all time Fave is:

Epic… contacted the creator who sent me a copy of it so I can have on my iPad so when I’m talking to folk about ATLA and they have no idea what I’m talking about…. I show them the AMV and usually… they are hooked LOL…. :) Enjoy :)

My goal is to make a ATLA AMV perhaps next year or the year after, when I get my new iMac and Final Cut Pro … I always set a creative target when I update my computer so I can really stretch my self and give it a go :) …. by the time I get around Korra will be out, so will probably try to do a ATLA AMV and a Korra AMV soon after… yummy! lol…

AMV’s, sure I know of those.

I am actually very interested in anime, but I’m only starting out as I’ve so far only seen three series and five films (okay, maybe that’s not so little).

When it comes to AMV’s I’m not that much of a fan. Sure I love the “Avatar Trailer” but other than that this one is the only one I like so far:

It’s about a character that I might have mentioned before. His name is Dilandau Albatou and he’s a villain with a certain cult following, with good reason.

NOTE: This is not a fan-made AMV but an official music video, so one can say it’s an official AMV.

    Enjoy :)
