That is ok, we had one before on the site, the problem was that it really slowed the site down. I think the site Admin, Jordan, has plans to bring it back as soon as he can make it work properly.

Yeah I plan on bringing that back soon, i’m currently working on upgrading the server to a faster leaner system so that this site runs faster and can have some more awesome features. I’m also revamping the design in the next couple of months I hope.

hmm, what about mail or PM? That’s about the same thing as chat.

I don’t think it is going to come back for multiple reasons

1/ From a moderation perspective there is no good way to implement a moderation system in a chat system. If there is abuse anywhere some chats cannot be viewed by mods so there is no proof of anything ever happening which causes issues. This happened before and while the chat was up we had more issues than all the time the site has not had chat combined.

2/ Jordan has been trying to get the system to work, but it is just not working in a way where it does not affect the stability of the site. Meaning that podcasts cannot be downloaded easily, news cannot be viewed well, and the forum barely works. The site working well outweighs any gain by a chat system.

3/ I think a chat system takes away completely from the fact that this is a forum, with a chat system it all depends on time zones and leads to a lessened sense of community. While with the forum you can just view the previous posts and respond when you are on.

4/ Chatting can be done via pm and works well enough.
