    I’m a university student who grew up (in my teen years) with ATLA and now I’m avidly watching and rewatching Legend of korra… I do have I love for Korra more than the first one, generally cause I’m a steampunk through and through. But I love watching ATLA just to related it to my training in Shaolin. Hiya, How are you?

    @appalachia Hiya! Welcome to the site!
    I’m doing good how about you? :)
    I love A:TLA and LOK but I have to say like A:TLA, probably because that’s what I grew up with.
    Shaolin? Is that related to a specific element?
    Well my favorite character is Toph (obviously). So who are some of your favorite characters (from A:TLA or LOK)?
    Guess that’s it for now! Have fun on the site!
    Here’s a random quote for your entertainment:
    Toph: Who’s Zuko?
    Sokka: Oh just some angry freak with a ponytail whose tracked us all over the world.
    Katara: What’s wrong with ponytails, Ponytail?
    Sokka: This is a Warriors’ Wolf Tail.
    Katara: Well, it certainly tells the other warriors that your fun and perky!

    @appalachia Welcome to the community!

    How long have you been training in Shaolin martial arts?

    @jessiejean Northern Shaolin is the style that firebenders use in ATLA.

    @appalachia

    Welcome, you will find here people from all age range, kids, tennagers, young, etc coexisting perfectly, and from different cultures and countries. So I think you will fit in the group and will make a bunch of new friends :)

    Shaolin, wow, is not a typical martial art, like judo, karate, kung fu or tae kwondo, how is your experience with it?

    See you in the forums!

    Welcome and awesome that you train in the ffighting stypes that they used in the series. :)

    Dogs rule!!!! GO Naga!!! :)

    Naga may be a minnor charater like Appa and Momo, but like all of the other animals in the series, she is AMAZING! :D My second favorite charater.

    @jessiejean I’m pretty sure that Shaolin is specific to fire bending, but through my training of Northern Shaolin I see a lot of similarities to all the bending in Northern Shaolin style. (aka the not widely known style.) Favourite Character I’d have to say Suki… I think it’s a cross between Toph and Suki

    @midnight0094 thirteen years and counting, the first four years were probably my hardest and actually I didn’t exactly know how rare it was to learn from where I come from. I went to Damodong with my Si Fu two years ago, and I still study and practice the art. The monks said that there is never anything in shaolin that you know, in order to keep balance you must practice often (aka everyday).

    @arthan I find it constantly hard, it’s espcially hard if you go for so long with it miss a few months because of school and feel like you have let down those who taught you. I recently experienced this, just coming home and remebering basics, but being afriad to continue the form in case I put my foot in the wrong place. I have so much respect for my Si Fu that it extends beyond what he expects of me. And therefore when I worry about being wrong I shouldn’t. I’ve gotten back into the meditative state. But yes over Kung Fu, or Tae Kwondo I prefer Shaolin.

    Thank you so much I hope to talk to you again!
