Do you think it would be a good idea for someone to make The Legend of Korra into a movie?

Fighting crime is what I do. >:)

Yeah, that would be so awesome! You can make the movie and make it with real people, like they did in Avatar the Last Airbender!

I don’t see the need, though if it were done right, it would be amazing. I refuse to watch the Last Airbender — from what I can tell, M. Night Shyamalan did not do a very good job.

If they make a Korra film, they can’t make the same mistakes he did — horrible screenplay, excessive special effects in action sequences, pasty cast. In terms of directors I can name off the top of my head, I honestly think that Peter Jackson would be the best bet. He balances whimsical, dopey humor with scenes of ethereal beauty, and he loves filming in New Zealand, which hosts amazing and diverse landscapes.

I dont tink it would be an good idea because they made A: TLA into a movie and never finshed making the other books into movies. I dont want that to happen again, i hate cliffhangers.

    Dogs rule!!!! GO Naga!!! :)

Naga may be a minnor charater like Appa and Momo, but like all of the other animals in the series, she is AMAZING! :D My second favorite charater.

Well, I’d say yes they should make a Legend of Korra movie, not only would it make the fans happy, but it’s also a financially sound plan, I mean, despite all the bad reviews the last film did fairly well, and the fan base has only gotten bigger. However, I’m not of the opinion that Book 1 should be remade into a movie, what’s done is done. Instead I think a movie should cover an entirely new story arc, perhaps even new characters. A film adaptation of the series has so much potential to add to the established lore of the universe, create new stories, show new parts of the four kingdoms.

That being said, TLK is much more streamlined than ATLA was, there aren’t any episodes that don’t add to the main story arc, precious few side plots, and it comes to a definite end after only one book. Clearly if one WERE to make a movie of this series, and I’m not suggesting they should, then Book 1 would be fairly easy to convert to such, without too much controversy around cutting out parts and whatnot.

I still can’t see how a movie could possibly be better than the show though, which is why I think they should make a unique movie, perhaps they could do a prequel, Aang and Toph taking down Yacone, or jump ahead and look at the next avatar after Korra, or even one of the past avatars, maybe Kuruk fighting Koh. There’s just so much potential, and so many stories left untold, that there’s no need to go over material covered by the show.

I think, instead of doing a movie remake of something we’ve seen, they should try to make one in a different timeline. I don’t care if it’s live-action or animated, but when you make a movie based off of something, whether it be a book or a TV show or a video game, etc., there is no doubt, and no exception, that people are going to do nothing but compare the movie to the show, and sometimes it can get to the point where it’s not fair to the directors and the producers and whatnot. I think it would be cool to see a prequel, but with an Avatar we don’t know much about, like Kyoshi or Kuruk or Yanghen. That would be interesting IMO.

HA HA. Its short enough to. Was that the point? Probable not. Live Action didn’t work for Avatar because for waterbending for say you cant make it float in the air only fire-hose out of the ground. Animation has proven to be the only way.

I have mixed feelings about that one.

Do I think it would be a good idea if it is about the books and is just a recap with live-action like the The Last Airbender movie?
    No.

Do I think it would be a good idea if it is standalone (like a sequel or a prequel) and has the same anime-style graphics as the show?
    Yes, absolutely!

The Last Airbender (Die Legende von Aang) movie was terrible! I couldn’t withstand that one. Turned it off after I saw Mr. Slumdog Millionair. In my opinion this movie never happend!

Equalizer. Currently waiting for Book 2 of Legend of Korra.

Do you mind? I’m busy doing the fishstick. It’s a very delicate state of mind!
