Hello, cosmobender here with some great news!
I have decided after much deliberation to create an avatar game! Even better is that you! The community will be the primary driving force behind this project!
Everyone that is involved will be credited on their work.

Genre: turn based strategy/what if game
Programming: Done all by myself

Game Modes:
Campaign: Choose to play as any of the 4 factions, Firenation, earth kingdom, north and south water tribes. This mode focuses entirely on the what-if scenarios that could have occurred. Events will occur throughout the playthrough, and depending on your nation, can effect you differently and can even change the story arc radically. Imagine an ATLA where Zuko is actually killed by the pirates!
Freeform: No events, no starting units, and no avatar to be seen, this is a free for all scenario(This will most likely be the multiplayer)
Scenario: Much like the campaign, but on a much smaller scale. This would allow you to play through pivotal battles in the Avatar universe. Play as General Iroh and take the outer wall of Bah Sing Se, or play as Admiral Zhao and conquer the north pole! (I might even consider making a special scenario for the start of the war! No promises though)

Nation specs(Including strategy archtypes):
Fire: Buffs to offensive strategies and naval invasions. Experiences an exponential boost in strength after “Sozin’s Comet” event is triggered. Becomes severely weakened by the “Solar Eclipse” event.(Expansionist archtype)
Earth: Unparalleled defensive units. Gains an even larger bonus in fortifications. Severe penalties when attacking from water. Almost no navy to speak of.(Economic powerhouse archtype)
Northern water tribe: lacks ability to field large armies, but are very good units. Gains a massive bonus when fighting on home ground. Gets a massive penalty from whenever the “Moon Perishes” event fires.(Survivalist archtype)
Southern water tribe: Boasts superior naval units(small elite ships), has best amphibious assault units. Fairs poorly in conventional war. Suffers similar drawbacks to northern tribe.(Trickster archtype)

Archtypes:
Expansionist=Relies on aggressively attacking to obtain resources to continue it’s onward drive
Economic Powerhouse=Focuses on Defenses to build up large resource stockpiles to field massive overwhelming armies
Survivalist=Also focus on defense, but rely on small elite forces to stem the tides of battle away from their home.
Trickster=Nearly completely focuses on diversion and attacking weakpoints on enemy divisions, moderately sized forces are used to prod enemy positions for weaknesses then punch a hole through it.

Here’s the plan regarding things such as releases and betas
Alpha version: VERY early release, will only be playtested by those directly involved (create art for the game, help with programming, being a mod, etc.)
Beta: A closed beta will be available to anyone a member of the community, just be aware though that you will need to ask for access to the beta.
Open Beta: Once I feel that the closed beta has allowed me to stabilize the game to an acceptable level, I will release an open beta available to all. This open beta will include a neat little bug reporting tool so that you can help me and your community with all those pesky bugs!
Release: When the game is a polished sheen, the game will move to a released version. I will still be taking suggestions for features, but note that at this stage, I will be more concerned with fixing bugs than anything else.
