This, I guess, is a fanfiction about random things that Aang kept a secret from the group for years… Thirteen to be exact. Set when the GAang is older, and I added in a lot and there’s Taang, Zutara, a bit of Sukka and Sokkla. Btw Azula had some spirit water healing and is now good. First fic, so be nice! Ps. I don’t know what do really do so I’ll post the first bit of the story (shhh, I’m new ;)
WARNING: SOME PEOPLE IN THIS ARE TOTALLY OOC (out of character)

The small throng of children walked and laughed happily through the city of Ba Sing Se, marvelling their accomplishment, and just how far they had come. Why, the Waterbender girl and her brother had come all the way from the poor Southern Water Tribe, and now she was a master, and he was a swordsman, and a warrior. The Earthbender girl had been from a family that kept her a secret from the world, and that thought she was a blind, helpless weak little girl. But she was far more than that, a Earthbending prodigy, able to bend metal and sand, as well as earth itself. Also, the FireNation traitors, the tea-loving old fool Iroh, and the now Firebending genius FireLord Zuko.

Not to mention the Avatar, the twelve-year-old who had mastered all the elements, conquered the former Firelord Ozai and brought peace back to our war-ridden world.
Peace is not for me. I was born to fight for my Nation.
However they were not aware that someone in the bushes was watching their every move and had been from the very beginning….

    Me.

    Chapter Two: Taang’s POV
(Btw don’t blame me for her name, you’ll find out later why it’s so cheesy)

Life’s alright for me. Fun. Name’s Taang, I’m the freaky kid from nowhere. Nowhere to go, constantly tracking my long-gone parents.
I’m going around stealing, and living off the land.
My parents dumped me all alone when I was 6, leaving me to fend for myself. Thankfully, their awesome powers enabled me to have two bending abilities: Earth AND Air. I’m 13 now, short, thin, and mastered Earth.
The other thing about me is that I’m blind: like my mother. I learnt to write and read by using my special abilities to feel the book. That’s only if I make the book out of earth and earthbend these letters in. Harsh, and not easy to read, but it gets my feelings out, writing. I love it.

My mother taught me to earthbend well, and my father refused to teach me Airbending techniques. He knew Airbending, but he couldn’t actually airbend. I mean, no one can Airbend anymore (ha, except me).
I’m trying to track down my parents. I know they left me for a group they traveled with. I don’t know who they are or why they left me anymore.
Something I then heard brought me back to reality and snapped me instantly out of my thoughts…
“And I heard that the GAang has been traveling round here…. Ba Sing Se…. They all found partners…. The blind Earthbender is incredible!”
    Oh Agni, BLIND EARTHBENDER?!
    He might mean my mother!
“WHO did you say was the blind Earthbender?” I threatened him, pushing earth up into his face and instantly flaring up in my metal-bending suit.

“I know nothing! I swear! Only rumors that they’re in Ba Sing Se!”
“Humph.” I snorted. Ba Sing Se….. Only a couple of miles!
They better be there….. I hope.

Love and smushy stuff you usually write,

Chapter Three: The City of Earth

(It’s kinda like Taang’s diary, if you haven’t already picked that up. Oh and btw, I’ve written heaps, so I’m going to go ahead now and post it all and not keep anyone hanging cause only @Sarah ‘s reading this).

Three days have passed and I SHOULD be nearing the city soon.

I have one pet that travels with me – it’s a lemur my father gave me. I still can’t remember my father. I called her Chen. She has funny arrows on her head. She’s helped me so much in terms of stealing food-and even a shoulder to cry on sometimes. Who knew, a LEMUR (Shrugs shoulders)!
Well, if my parents ARE here, they wouldn’t just uncover themselves. They were always secretive – I don’t know why. We always hid places, along with about four other people who have been lost in my memories, doomed to remain fuzzy images of when I was a baby. One thing I know though was that they always hid me and told me to be quiet for the times that the people visited. Like – like they wanted to keep me a secret from them. That kind of hurt me.

It hurt me because…. Well, didn’t they want to show me off? Their own daughter?
I wanted to know if I was getting close, so I stopped to feel the ground’s movements with Chen on my shoulder.
No, nothing, nothing, nothing, AH HA! There is something that feels like a city…. I’ll just have to keep walking.
Walking, walking, walking walking walking running….

I can DEFINITELY feel it now! Heaps of people, running, walking, and all earth-made homes… I can even feel them in their homes then! And no walls, sweet.
“Chen, come over here!” I called back to her.
She skittered over to me with a handful of misinterpretable chitters.
“Look, Chen. The place where we might belong. Ba Sing Se.”

“Sometimes I’m jealous of even you, Chen. You can see.” I moaned. I’m sure Waterbenders will come up with something for healing it soon.
The sun spirit is setting now, so I’ll have to camp here.
Yawn, I’m tired. But just a little.. Bit… More.. Yawn, walking….
    Gonna… Go… Now….

    Chapter Four: Sidetracked

(I have shedloads of funny, crappy and cheesy A:TLA swear words that she uses, so don’t laugh… Okay don’t mock, you can laugh)

    Huh? Hey, where am I?
“You the Avatar’s daughter? You have yer funny stick n’ lemur,” said a gruff voice from what seemed to be the entrance of the shack I’m in.
“No buddy, and now tell me, who the Agni is the Avatar? Sounds important.”
“Watch yer mouth, young lady. How do you not freakin’ know the Avatar? Where have you been for the last fourteen years of yer life, hun?” he said incredulously.
“Been by myself since 6,” I explained. “Can you tell me then?” I asked. Using my earthbending, I sensed he was stepping forward and circling me. I’m so lucky to have a prodigy as a mother.
“The Avatar,” he began, “Is the most powerful bender of them all. He knows Earth, Fire, Water and Airbending. He is the last Airbender.”

I knew this guy was wrong, cause I can partially Airbend, but I decided to stay quiet for risk of him trying to sell or trade me to pirates.
“Well, if you is the Avatar’s kid, yer must know Airbending. You’d be worth a fortune… And the Avatar might just come to get his pretty little daughter.”
    Errrrm, what do I say?
“I don’t know nothin’ bout Airbendin,” I pleaded, trying to imitate his gruff, raw voice. And… Failing miserably. I sounded like I was gargling gravel.
    Crap.

I might as well as handed over my rights there and then. But hey, if I wanted to, I could kill this guy square and centre.
Instead I decided on knocking him out.
He went out with a slight grunt. Eh.
But he had a point. Wouldn’t my dad, if he was in Ba Sing Se, come and find me if I put posters up saying that I was gonna be like, I dunno, executed or sold or something? Surely my mom would recognise me?

Okay, so, I’ll put them up. Anyways, where the turtleduck am I?
Still near the city. What do I do with the guy?
I picked his huge, surly figure up easily (thanks to my Airbending) and dumped in the nearest thing I could find: a closet.
    And continued walking.

    Chapter Five: Stupid Bush

    (Here comes the GAang, peoples!)

I swear I was nearly there when I ran into some travellers. I got so scared of more FRIKEN thugs because there were three men, all quite what seemed muscly, that I ran into bushes without a second thought. “Chen!” I whispered as loudly as possible. Chen was still munching on berries we’d found this morning. A man was talking.
“And so I was saying, Apppa’s kid, you know, Thune, she’s kinda tired, so we should really let her rest. Besides, we’ve got heaps more bison that we bred-”
“AAAAAAAAAAGH!!!” I screamed at the top of my lungs. This was no ordinary bush. This was Stinging Se bush. A huge burning sensation erupted over my body.
“Who’s there?” a kind voice said. I toppled out of the bush and fell on the ground, defeated.
“Oh god.” the voice said again.

    “Zuko, get my bag.”
Suddenly I felt a warm tingly sensation on my body, and the shivering burning was gone. She must be a Waterbender! She might heal my eyes!

I scrambled up to my feet, crawling back as far as I could.
“Who are you?” I asked defensively.”I know earthbending, and I’m pretty darn good at it!” I shouted, as confident sounding as possible. I could take them out. There was six of them, and three of them were women. I stood in the Airbending stance.
“Stay back, and don’t hurt her,” a different voice said this time. It was oddly familiar. A woman’s voice. “Taang, is that you? Baby?”
“How do you know my name?” I said, trying to stay calm. But my voice let me down, and it quivered. Because then I knew whose voice it was. It was my mother’s.
    I remembered.

“Eh?” Almost all of them said.
“We’d both know an Airbending stance anywhere. Plus there’s only one other Airbender other than Aang.”
“Okay, now I’m totally confused.” one said. My mom was here. After everything. So I started crying, harder than I’d ever cried before. It felt like a wave of water was coming out. As I sat there sobbing, I managed to choke out “You left me! Alone!”
“We had no other choice-” a man’s voice said.
“You could have taken me with you! Raised me normally! WHY THE HELL NOT?!” I demanded.
“Let’s get back to the Air Temple, home, and we’ll explain.” my mom pleaded, quietly crying.
I walked with them as they swerved around the bush. I couldn’t take any more walking, and I collapsed.
“Don’t worry, I’m here,” the sweet voice said again. “I’m Katara, I’m a Waterbender.”
“Figured.” I sobbed as she picked me up easily into her arms.
“So, Toph, Aang, please EXPLAIN.” the one called Sokka yelled at them once we got to the Air Temple.
“Taang, please sit down.” Katara quietly asked me.
I sat. I had cleaned myself up a bit, with the help of Fire Lord Zuko, or just Zuko as I was supposed to call him. He and Princess Katara were married.
He asked me of what I had been doing and how this all came about. I was about to sarcastically go into the details of how a baby was made, but he stopped me, begging and putting his hands up to shield himself, laughing.

I like the Fire Lord and Lady.
“Uh, gosh, where do we start…..?”
“Maybe with the beginning? Like, how did we not know about Taang?” Zuko asked.
“Well, as you know, me and Toph have been together for quite some time… And just before you moved back with Zuko, Katara, well…. We had Taang. We were too young though. Toph and I were 16!! We thought it was too early to have a child. So we kept her hidden from you. One day, Sokka heard crying from underground, where Toph had hidden her. He started digging, and finally found Taang. He brought her to us demanding who she is and why she was underground in our room. That’s why Sokka knows everything.”

    Whoah, so much happened…
    Taang.

    Chapter Six: “Are You Blind?”

I still don’t know my dad’s name. But I knew his voice.
Toph (I didnt feel close enought to her to call her mom) continued with the story of my past. “We wanted to hide her, so that you wouldn’t know we had children at 16. So I did something called ‘knocking you out’. You silly hogmonkey,” Toph sniggered.
“Yes, that’s right – wait, WHAT?!?!?” Sokka then proceeded to throw his boomerang at Toph, who blocked it with a sturdy wall of earth.
    “Earthbenders…” Sokka muttered.
“Hey, wait, Taang, no offence, but… Are you blind?” The whole room gasped at Katara’s question.
    I held my breath.
“Yes,” I let out with a puff of air.
“Oh god, what have I done?” Toph muttered under her breath as she put her hands over her face.

“Don’t worry, I can heal her like I did you To-” Katara started.
    “YAY!!!” I cut in.
“Come here, this’ll take a while,” Katara laughed.
“And I’ll see? I don’t need to sense everything anymore?”
“Yes, you’ll see,” Katara chuckled. “Your mother was exactly like this. We developed this technique about two years ago. Your mother found that she loved Aang even more when she saw him – and he was the first person she saw.”

“Oh wow, I can’t believe this is ACTUALLY HAPPENING!” I squealed, excited for my vision.
    Katara waved her water over.
    I closed my eyes.

[Okay... Excitedness! This is a bit splitting up her getting her sight back. After this in my book, she gets her own style of writing.. But I can't do that here... Whatevs. Enjoy!]

    FOURTEEN YEARS AGO:

The ballroom was glittering in the low light, provided the lanterns.
“Put on Fire Nation one, Katara!” Fire Lord Zuko yelled at his Fire Lady from across the room.
“Ooooooooo! I wanna see this!” Avatar Aang cried, detaching himself from the cactus punch bowl, walking over with his wife to see Lady Katara.
“Seriously? You guys didn’t see enough of the Fire Nation me two years ago when we were disguised? Or my royal robes since I’ve been living with Zuko for those two years?”
“Yeah, but this is OLD Fire Nation stuff the guards dug out,” the Fire Lord whined.
And then suddenly, the comic of the GAang arrived.
“GAH! I’m here! Am I late?!” the 18 year old Councilman Sokka blurted out to the people in the room. “I love GAang reunions!” he giggled excitedly. “Plus Suki and I have news!”
    “Oooooo!” everyone yelled excitedly.
“We’re getting married!” Suki squealed. “He FINALLY proposed!”

“OH MY!” the Chief of Police shouted sarcastically, although she did care.
“Wait, give us five minutes and me and Toph’ll go old EARTH NATION!” the Fire Lady squealed excitedly.
“Sweet! Just like when you guys were bus boys!” Chief Bei Fong laughed.
The Fire Lord gave the Councilman and the Avatar a funny confused look.
“Uh, it’s a long story…” the Avatar laughed nervously.
“Yeah, we were kinda breaking into the Earth King’s castle to… Well.. Kinda… Tell on people…” said Councilman Sokka sheepishly.

There was awkward silence while the girls could be heard laughing from the bathroom. They were obviously playing around with make up.
“If they’re using makeup, I better go and help..” the Kyoshi Warrior put. “I can do their faces and hair.”

Another five glasses of cactus juice passed Sokka and Aang with absolute silence.
“This is turning out to be a dress up party, unlike the invitation to the celebration of the new CITY you created, Aang.” the Fire Lord said boredly.

“How do we look?” came three shy voices.

“Jaw-dropping,” all three men said in unison as they googly-eyed over their fiancés.
“How much cactus juice have you guys had?” Suki asked curiously.
“Hehehe… A few…” the Avatar replied, proving his drunkenness.
“Pretty colours… APPA ATE MOMO!” Sokka yelled.

    “Crap,” Katara facepalmed.
“Oh, Agni, tonight is gonna be long.” Zuko muttered to himself, the only one of the men who had had no juice.

“I just hope that they don’t do anything irrational or dumb with the girls….”

    TWO MONTHS AFTER THE PARTY:

“How’d ya sleep, Twinkle Toes?” Toph asked her partner, yawning and stretching from the warm covers beside Aang.
“Very nicely thank you.” Aang’s voice echoed throughout the Air Temple they had recently built. It had been tiring work for everyone, and they finished putting in the furniture last night. Very tired, especially Toph, they went to bed early the previous night.
“I like it how I’m actually able to see you. Thank goodness we have Katara.”
And suddenly she cried: “Do you smell that dusty smell? It’s very strong. It smells terrible!”
“Ummm…. Okay. I don’t smell anything, but okay.” Aang said confused.
“Well it’s definitely there. And it’s strong.”
Toph did NOT like to be wrong.
“I like it when we’re alone, just us,” Aang told her. Toph smiled.
Then she stopped still as her feet made contact with the floor. Her ears twitched.
“If it’s just us – why are there THREE HEARTS?”
Her hand went up to her stomach.
Aang got up. He looked at Toph with her hand on her belly.

“We must hide this. Now, before it gets out of hand. From EVERYONE.”
“Awwww, crap…” Toph moaned. “I’m gonna have to throw up…. I thought I had some badass virus! This is gonna suck! Oh, I think I’m gonna…. HURK!”

    TAANG POV

“Oh. My. God.” I awed as I opened my eyes and SAW for the first time.
Everything was – colourful! And bright! My eyes!
    “Whoah! Holy…. Just… Oh my… What…. Ah!” I stuttered.
“I was like this,” my mom said as she put her hand up and smiled a knowing grin.
Whoah. And she was absolutely beautiful.
Bright green eyes, short bundled black hair that came almost over her eyes at the front. She was slender, and sturdy.
And… My dad… He was BALD?! With funny arrows like Chen on his head.
“Dad, what the- why are you bald? Seriously?”
Mom blushed, as did my dad.
And – holy crap, Katara was REALLLLLY pretty. Blue eyes, tan skin and dark hair…. Loopies?
And… Whoah. I gasped a little. No way I was going to say this aloud but – Fire Lord Zuko had a huge scar! God, I wonder which Firebender he got THAT from….

Ehehehehee! Sokka has a BOOMERANG!!! Hell yeah! And a… Ponytail? Manly, Sokka.
While I had been… I dunno, out? Some other people had come along. Two more women.
They were in green warrior uniforms.
One had short brown hair, and the other had a looooooooong thin plait down the back of her neck.
“Hey Taang, alright?” the first one said kindly. “I’m Suki, Sokka’s wife, and this is Ty Lee.”
“Hey! I just know we’re gonna be great friends! We’ll go shopping and I’ll spoil you and well all have a great time, bending and I can teach you chi-blocking and-”
“Ty Lee! God! Don’t overwhelm her!” Suki said, desperately trying to calm her down.
I laughed. “Is she usually like this?” I asked.
    “Yes…” Zuko sighed.
“Then I’ll like her. A lot.”
    I smiled. Evilly.
“Hehehe…” Ty Lee chuckled with me. ALSO evilly. “I like this one.”

“This is just so much to take in…. I love sight.”
At that point a guard came in.
“Fire Lord Zuko, Fire Lady Katara and noble friends, we have a message for you all.” the guard said anxiously.
“Thank you Chang,” Katara said kindly. He gave her the letter, and she unfolded and read it.
“Oh dear LORD! Will you please leave us Chang?”
    “Yes. Excuse me, Malady.”
Once the guard had gone we all yelled “WHAT IS IT?!” at the same time in Katara’s ear.
“Ouch…” she said, rubbing her ears. We all looked eager.
“Azula’s been let go from prison. She’s now undergoing training to bring her back to sanity.”
    “WHAT?!?!?!?!?” they screamed at her.
“Shut up guys! Okay, stop fretting. Who the HELL is Azula?!”

Well, I guess that’s overwhelming enough for now…
I’ll tell you who exactly Azula is tomorrow. I gotta remember this is a diary after all.
Plus, I’m staying the night at my parent’s place! They have a spare room, but I convinced the FireLord and Lady to stay. At the moment they’re more kind than my dad… I can’t get through to him. He’s so hard to read…..
    Anyways, goodnight, I’m real tired.
    Wow. So much has happened.

    Taang xxx

If you hadn’t already noticed (DUH), I learnt to write and read properly!
Katara taught me to read and Zuko taught me to write….

    Chapter (messed up) 7: Drawings

Today I hung out with Katara and Zuko again.
I know my parents love me and everything (although, contradicting that, I’m not quite sure my dad does), I feel more of a bond towards them, especially FireLord Zuko.

Sokka drew a picture of me yesterday, he’s drawing everyone to get better and better (he used to suck, plus he wants to “capture all the moments”).
So…. I let my hair down, put in earrings, and also put on the only clothes Aang (my dad…. Wow that’s weird) had. They’re his old clothes!

From when HE was thirteen! Mum says that proves how much I’ve got his body, since I fit his clothes. I’m totally the light Airbender vegetarian kid like him. Yeah… Dot dot dot..

Sokka also drew another one, which is the first thing they did after they saved the world. THEY RODE ON THE OMASHU MAIL RIDE.
Zuko refused to go on the ride. He’s too dignified. *Sniggers*

    Chapter 8: Princess Azula.

Sooooooooo…… Back to who “Azula” is.

    Weeeeeeeell…… She’s kinda…. Gosh, it’s hard to explain.
    She’s FireLord Zuko’s sister.
She’s the third best Firebender in the world.
    Zuko, then Iroh …..
    Then her.
    She can bend lightning.
And she’s totally and utterly crazy.
    And evil.

She’s also about to become an aunt.

    Let me explain.

    YESTERDAY:

The FireLord was sitting in his study, surrounded by paperwork.
He couldn’t think, and he missed his wife and also his new-found niece dearly.
And then suddenly- a knock on the door.
WHOO! Saved by the door! He thought.
“FireLord Zuko? Fire Lady Katara has a message for you.”
The messenger handed him a scroll.
Zuko, I’m pregnant. Don’t freak out… I’m on the other side of the castle. Katara…
    “Wait, WHAT?”
“She’s pregnant, Sire. She found out today. While practicing water bending on herself.”
“Could you please excuse yourself? I think I need to mull this over…” Zuko said.

And just before Zuko came in to tell us-
    “HEY! I just realised something!”
Suki sighed. “What is it, Sokka?”
“Taang’s name is like Toph and Aang put together! Like…. T for Toph, and the aang part for Aang! That’s so cool!” Sokka said, mildly ecstatic.
“You only just realised that, Sokka?” dad asked bluntly and calmly. “Why else would we call her that? It’s because we wanted us to be a part of her… Forever.”
    “God…” mom facepalmed.
That’s when Zuko burst through the iron doors.
“What is it?” I asked curiously.
    “…… Katara’s pregnant.”
“WHAT?!” mom said, going from lying on the metal floor comfortably to grabbing it using metalbending, therefore making a huge dent in it.
    “Thankyou, Toph.”
    “Welcome, Sparky.”
“How the hell’d she find out?” Suki asked.

“Suki, she’s a WATERBENDER. She went outside to practice, and when she was perfecting a new technique on herself, and she…. She FELT it.”
I gasped, then ran out the doors, through the red corridor, with mom shouting “TAANG!” back at me, past the guards, through the kitchen and out the door into the rain (henceforth the perfect time to practice).

She was sitting by the turtleduck pond, and looked as shocked as we were. There was the ink and paper beside her, used and messy.
She obviously didn’t want to walk to the other side of the palace to alert Zuko; she was on her knees and clutching her stomach.
    “FIRELADY-”
“NOT NOW!” I yelled at the guard, instinctively throwing my arms back through the rain in a Waterbending technique, expecting air to come out.

    “Mmsffs…MMM!” he said, muffled.
I turned round and he was FROZEN. IN ICE.

Katara broke her mental state and immediately got up.
“Did you just- WATERBEND?!” she shouted, half completely and utterly shocked, the other half ecstatic.
    “Ummmm…. I dunno? DID I?” I laughed loudly.
She ran over to me and we hugged.
“Oh my god, another Waterbender!!!” she giggled, not even questioning how I did it.
“Uhrr… Did you even question as to HOW exactly I can Waterbend?” I yelled, looking at my hands curiously.
    “DO IT AGAIN!!” she squealed.
I swivelled round to the guard, looked at him sorrowfully, and slowly raised my hands up, felt the water surrounding me, and brought my hands down in a tide-sweeping movement.
“You’re like a master!” Katara was definitely excited about this.

“But- but- but- I’m an Earth and Airbender! It’s not possible!”
“Sweetie. Other than the Avatar there is no one else in the entire world that can bend more than one element. Hey, you’re the Avatar and the best Earthbender in the world’s daughter! If you can bend two elements, why not four? Why can’t you take after your FATHER?!”

“BECAUSE I’M NOT HIM! I’M NOT THE AVATAR AND I NEVER WILL BE! THAT’S WHY I FREAKED OUT WHEN I COULD BEND AIR, DAMMIT!!!!” I screamed at her.
She wanted me to have that power too much. I didnt want it it, I was afraid I might go Azula-crazy. It was SCARY.
But I just cracked at my best friend.
    “I’m sorry, Katara.” I mumbled.
“No…” she said looking into the distance. “I understand. You don’t want the power at this age? You know your father was twelve.”
“I know.” He was stronger. I’m not that able.
“Come here.” Katara pulled me into a tight hug.
I dunno how long I was there, but it was nice.
After a while, she got up, and proposed we go tell the other about everything that had happened.
“Hey, Katara, it’s full moon tonight, right?”
“Yeah. It’s natural to feel powerful.”
“I have an overwhelming desire to bloodbend.” I fessed.
“Yeah. I know. It’s real hard to ignore sometimes.”
“Hey, did you feel the baby with bending?”
“Oh crap. I have a baby. Yea. Riiiiiiiiiight.”
“Yes. You do. But my question is.. Can I feel it?”
“Uhhhh… Yeah. Take a shot. Have a go through bloodbending. I know I can trust you not to hurt me or him, Taang.”
“Do want it to be a him?”

“Okay…. Yes. To get rid of Zuko’s nerves over an heir. Then I want girls. Don’t tell anyone, but once I hit the five month mark, I’ll be able to tell its gender. Zuko doesn’t know that.” she smiled.
    I smiled too.
“So do you know where Ty Lee’s got to lately? I wanna see her a bit more,” I asked as we walked to the other side of the palace.
“Well, cause Suki came up here, she stayed with the warriors on Kyoshi Island to train them while Suki was away.”
“Ahhhh. Sweetness. Tell her I want to see her ASAP once she gets off duty.”
“HA! That’s real funny. Your mom said that.”
“What, ASAP? Everyone says that, Katara.”
“No, SWEETNESS. You say it in the same tone as her.”
YES! I thought, doing some rapid air punches. With air coming out this time.
At least I’ve inherited SOME part of her, other than the bending.

“Cool,” was all I said after correcting myself and straightening my air nation robes professionally. Calm and professional, that’s what dad says.
“You know Taang, you don’t have to be like that around me. You can be whatever you want.”
    “It’s just…”
“Your dad, I know. But the thing is, if you ever wanted to get away from them, you know to come here, right?”
    “Right.”
“You know I dated him for a while, right?” she said smugly, just before we entered the room which everyone was in, not giving me enough time to reply. Clever, Katara. Clever.
“WHAT?!” I still screamed at her, like mom. Haha, YES, I thought again at the back of my mind.

“What was that, Taang?” mom asked suspiciously.
    “Never mind…” I mumbled.

“So, er, guys…. I dunno how to put this but… Yes. I’m pregnant. And….” Katara trailed off.
    “I’m a Waterbender,” I put.
Damn, it was just easier to get it out and over with.
    “……” was all I heard.
“THA- that’s not even POSSIBLE!” dad was the first to shout.
    “Bad ass, Taang.” mom smiled.
“Uh- uh- UH?!” Zuko was obviously baffled. At both.
“Oh. My. Gosh! This means no shopping!” Ty Lee said as she made a very flexible entrance with… A Fire Nation girl her age…

“AZULA!” everyone but me said as they went into defensive bending stances. Well, except the non-benders, but they took stances with their weapons nonetheless. I followed in their wake.
    “Guys, guys! She’s ok-AY!”
Everyone but Zuko and Katara stood down.
“She’s not lying,” me and mom said at the same time.
We looked at each other and laughed.
    Azula giggled.
“Did she just- GIGGLE?” Aang asked incredulously.
“I think- I think SO.” Zuko said, baffled and… Stunned? Worried? Yep, worried.
“I- Uh- Eh?” Katara struggled to get out. Sokka felt the same way.
Suki looked blandly at Ty Lee. I mean, I bet for her it was like, “Oh, if Ty Lee’s good with her, I am too,” sorta thing.
Mom just simply shrugged her shoulders like that of a calm winged-lemur.
I’m taking she couldn’t care LESS.

“Would someone tell me what the hell’s going on today? No more secrets,” I put.

I didn’t want ANYTHING else kept from me.

“Welllllllll… If we’re spilling…. Everyone else knows this, but me and Katara once were married.” dad explained. Oh, yay. A lecture.
“We had a child together, an Airbender, Tenzin, who’s SUPPOSED to be with his loving Aunty TY LEE at the moment. But apparently THAT all went down the drain when she decided to take Azula out of a MENTAL ASYLUM for a little “trip”…” Katara mumbled into the distance.
“What can I say, I gave him to Mai. You know she loves him too,” Ty Lee shrugged.
    “Struggling… To… Keep… Up… Mind… Filling… AND EXPLODING!!! BOOM!!!” I yelled, mimicking my head imploding.
“You’re definitely your mother’s daughter….” Zuko mumbled, one eybrow raised and rubbing his forehead.

    “So that means… I have a BROTHER!” I squealed.
    “I HAVE A BABY BROTHER!!!”
I was literally jumping up and down hugging everyone at this point.
They weren’t exactly all hugging back.

    “And… If we’re spilling the beans…”
“Aang and I are trying for a child.”
“Whoah, mom, TMI! TMI!!” I yelled, my soul practically crying, raising my hands defensively to protect me from weird PARENT stuff.
“That’s wonderful, Toph. What’ll you name it?”
“Well, if it’s a girl, Lin, and if it’s a boy, Bumi.”
    “I like the sound of a sister… THAT’D be cool.” I smiled.
    Katara now adores me.
Sokka wants to kill Zuko for impregnating his sister, and mom and dad, Zuko and Katara are now more in love with each other than ever.
Funny how kids bring people together.

And so we all slept soundly that night.
    Aang dreaming of Toph,
    Toph dreaming of Aang,
    Sokka dreaming of Zuko’s death,
    Katara dreaming of Zuko,
    Zuko dreaming of Katara,
    And me dreaming of siblings.

Chapter 9: Old Endings and New Begnnings

Sokka and Suki got divorced today.
They filed for one a while ago, and haven’t lived with each other for years, but it only just came through today.
I mean, they still are best friends and always will be, but they just thought they both had too many differences.
It was sad in one sense, but everyone knew that they were still in each other’s good books, and they agreed to stay just friends.

I’m going to meet Tenzin today! I’m SOOOOOOO excited!!!
I’ve never known what it’s like around little kids, and apart from those I’ve occasionally helped in villages, I’ve never really met one his age.
Whoah, so dad’s 29 and already pretty much got three kids!

Tenzin’s one and a half now, and still cute! Although Aang shaved his hair… And he can Airbend!
    Pretty well for his age!
I don’t have my tattoos yet, but dad wants me to shave off my hair and get them. Katara and mom say my hair is “too pretty” to shave all off just to get my Airbending tattoos. I WANT THEM SO BAD THOUGH, ME AND DAD AND TENZIN ARE THE ONLY AIRBENDERS LEFT IN EXISTENCE!!!

I practiced a lot with him, and he says I’ve got the all clear to have mastered Airbending! YAY!!!

    Azula has hung around.
She actually been pretty damn nice. I had a day along with her yesterday, and we braided each other’s hair. She is teaching me Firebending *Cough, LIGHNING, cough* moves. A puff of smoke came out yesterday, much to my surprise, and to everyone else’s delight. *Cough, FEEBLE, cough*
