I just got my big sister to read the Promise. She liked the show when she watched it and then would never watch it again, until recently when she asked me for a lend of my DVD’s.
So naturally with The Promise in my possession and her interested again I decided to see how much of a fan she was, brought it down, flicked through it randomly showing her some funny/cool panels. Then I went to leave and she called me back asking if she could read it.

She then proceeded to read it cover to cover using me as her own Avatar wiki, knowing me and Avatar. She liked it and so we have another Avatar comic fan.

A good days work

my copy of The Promise just came in the mail today and told myself I would not read the whole thing today so I would have something to look forward to tomorrow… well I got to the middle of the book and I could not stop reading and I ended up finishing the whole book in less than an hour. It was so good!!! I just wish it was longer. Why can’t part two come out sooner?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the book 3 days ago it was awesome. I dont have it witg me right now but I can talk about what i remember.

I loved it the characters were awesome its nice to see that zuko isn’t pure eveil like the leaks applied. We needed the fill in scenes and they were perfect. I am not hating on zuko anymore he is in a really difficult situation and if anything aang should listen too because he is thinking seperatly.

I really enjoyed seeing the intertwined nation relationship of kori and her parents I would have never guessed she was an earthebender along with her mom. That one shot with katara lookng back on them was one of my favorite slides. It was perfect to show the struggle of the families special situation.

Ok my fingers are getting tired typing on my phone ill continue later!

If you really know Zuko’s character you will understand exactly why he does everything he does in this book.
I think the key is to remember that Zuko is not fully developed as a character by the end of the story and as such is allowed to make mistakes.
I know I really feel for him, give the situation he is in, he is the new Fire Lord at a very volatile time.

So to add to the Zuko fangirl thing, if you are “A reasonable Zuko fangirl” you will like this book.

Beyond Zuko, which seems to be really the only point of contention among the fandom, the book is near perfect for a part 1.

Definitely, Mayor Morishita’s family and the other characters reaction to them is one of the most interesting parts of the book, especially going forward in to the next 2 parts with the discussion about the “Harmony Restoration movement” and even the origins of United Republic.

It will be interesting to see how big a part Katara will play at the discussions.

I’m waiting for it too, my copy comes from UK through Amazon Spain.

Since it comes from a seller and not from Amazon directly, I can not track the order, so I only know that they have sent it.
