Dark Horse Announce Korra Comics at SDCC 2015

I called it, the panel has just ended and Korra Comics are confirmed to be coming.

It will be a 3 part series in the same style of the current ATLA 3 part series we get. Mike Dimartino will be the writer and Bryan will assist on story and art direction, no artist has been decided just yet.

The story will focus on Korra and Asami’s relationship and the immediate aftermath of the Book 4 finale, there will be no big time jump. No date listed at all, hence no artist announced.

We so far only have this one image.

Honestly, I thought the last few minutes of Book 4 finale were a bit rushed and underwhelming, so I’m glad the story will have a chance to breathe.

Thrilled to hear Mike is writing the comics himself, I had (and have) no problems with Gene, but it’s always better when stuff comes from the man himself.

Hope this doesn’t mean the end of the Avatar comics. Honestly, I won’t be satisfied until I see Aang on his deathbed and Korra being born (and maybe even a few things after that).

With this being announced I’m guessing smoke and shadow is gonna be the last ATLA comic or maybe one more to come after

Excited to see that they are making comics for korra. I didn’t really see this coming so it’s nice surprise. I wonder how many they are going to make, hopefully at least 3

I’m guessing it’s gonna be a similar to the ATLA in filling in any missing information. What are the loose ends in korra?

There is gonna be one more after SandS, so 5 total. And you know very well what the loose ends are! Clearly we need to know whether Milo ever finds that pretty girl again.

Cool. I’d say the loose ends are Suyin’s father, Izumi’s mother, possibly the Mako romance with the Fire Princess if it’s still a canon idea, creating democracy for the Earth Place (President Suyin maybe?) how they deal with Kuvira and Baatar Jr., how long-term Desna and Eska as co-chiefs can last, and whatever remains of the Red Lotus.

*Late replies* Cool, I hope we get at least one more series of ATLA comics and hopefully more Korra comics. 😛

What if we get a side by side release :O, like both just keep releasing comics

That would be pretty great, but considering all that the creators are working on right now…probably not likely :P.
