Hello Avatar fans, It’s your Avatar Community here with the third of our monthly Opinion posts. The first two were received very well and hopefully this one will continue that trend.

The topic I (Airspeed Prime) asked people for opinions on was: Your idea for a new series of Avatar or a new season to continue on Avatar The Last Airbender or Avatar The Legend Of Korra.

Gaang

A lot of fans definitely want to see more of the characters we know and Love from Avatar The Last Airbender.

Avatar The Legend of Korra HD Photo

Avatar The Legend Of Korra is only going to be 12 episodes it should be awesome, albeit short.

Four Elements

What other Ideas will our great community have for a new series of Avatar.

This is a very Creative topic that could produce some amazing ideas, “¬†will we see more people want more about Aang, Korra or something completely new.

Here are the opinions of our Community.

Avatar the Last Airbender was such a creative and well done series that I think any series done in that universe would be amazing, which is why I am so excited for Korra!”¬† So my dream series looks like how Korra is shaping up to be.

Actually what I think would be most awesome is if they did this Korra series and then also did a series 1,000′s of years before ATLA, maybe even the start of the Avatar or something like that, it would be amazing if the Avatar series could keep continuing with series after series, and possibly eventually a series to re-visit the original Avatar group.”¬† Although if you think about how Avatar The Last Airbender ended it would be really difficult to come up with a story that could continue off of the original ATLA, unless maybe the characters were in their 20′s-30′s.

So in conclusion, any series in the Avatar Universe from the original creators, i’m going to be extremely excited about!

A super interesting topic, I will get straight into it: Korra I really need to see how the series goes before wanting more, I love Avatar The Last Airbender and while I would like to see something else to add and absolutely perfect and put a cap on the series I think that this would work better in Comic or Web Comic form to tie up some loose ends. So it has to be a new series for me

My dream Avatar Series would be about the Very First Avatar. Since we know from the Lion Turtle that there was an era before the Avatar, I am extremely interested in how the Avatar came into being, did the Spirits see the state of the world and decide they needed an entity to help keep balance and their decision to put the Avatar Spirit in a human and not make it an all powerful spirit. We know energybending was before the Avatar and the Avatar is the only one who can bend all four elements it brings up if Energybending came before all the “¬†four elements , so again it would really give us the history behind bending and the Origin of the Avatar. Since the Avatar cycle is Water, Earth, Fire, Air that would make the First Avatar a Waterbender but it could have happened at a time when people had not learned it from the moon yet, the same goes for if people had yet learned the other 3 elements from Badgermoles, Dragons and Sky Bisons. To me a series like this would answer so many questions I have about the history of Avatar.

Another thing that really interests me in a series like this would be how the first Avatar adapted to his/her new role , as the only neutral in a world that never had one, the struggle of having to learn the elements which may or may not have only been recently been learned by humans (or maybe even the first Avatar learned from The Moon, Badgermoles, Dragons and Sky Bisons),Having possibly only the spirits themselves to get help from, at the end maybe the Four Nations started the system of training and locating the new Avatar.

So many interesting thoughts and possibilities.

Kuruk

I would like a follow-up mini season for ATLA, but it wouldn’t be chronological. It could be named Book 4: Air for the first three books’ sake. It would pretty much include all the worthy tangents Bryke had planned about ATLA that didn’t make it into the series- Aang’s parents, Iroh’s spirit world journey, and of course Zuko’s mother. Maybe a few more fan-popular ones like Toph’s parents, the dragon egg, and a little after-summary of the main characters.

Aangfan

The problem with me is that I love Avatar: The Last Airbender so much, I never wanted it to end! So what would I do? Well, I don’t have an issue with what actually DID happen.the original series ended. But it left a gaping hole for so many of us. Fast forward a few yearsand whammo! Avatar: The Legend of Korra is in the works now with a November 2011 release. Thus far the buzz fills a part of what my next dream Avatar series would be.

To help me make my pointon a recent poll, Avatar The Last Airbender Online asked, “Which Character are you looking forward to the Most in Avatar The Legend of Korra?” The surprising answer wasn’t Korra, the new lead character, but Spirit Aang and his son, Tenzin. What does that mean? It means that we are still in love with the original series (though things may change when the new series actually starts airing) and we want to know what happened.

So, what would be my dream Avatar Series? I think that at some point, the creators should revisit the original series and put out either another series or season – or even a one-shot special – letting us know their vision for what happened to all these people we have come to love? Does everyone marry who we expect them to? How many kids do each of them have? What kinds of challenges did they face after the war ended?

A second thought for after the Korra series (it depends on how it is received and what we learn from it – it is a 12 episode commitment at current time, which isn’t very much to be honest): Perhaps every few years another Avatar series could come out with the NEXT avatar in the series. Next is Korra. We will hopefully learn what became of our gaang. I’m guessing we will grow to love Korra, Tenzin and Meelo as well and will want to know more about how they affected the world and who the next avatar after that will be.

Your Dream Avatar Series or Season?
Hmmm Good question! I think I would enjoy another season of ATLA but it would be when the whole Gang are adults. Like around 24-28. I guess one episode would go like this.

There was an animal that was the source of killings in Earth Kingdom villages and while Katara and Aang go visit Sokka and Suki on Kyoshi Island, they read the Earth Kingdom Newspaper to find out that Toph has gone missing into the Black Shadow Forest.

Then Katara, Aang, Sokka and Suki go to find Toph {yes people, MoMo and Appa are there too} when they see her knocked out on the ground! So when Katara heals her with her water healing power, they all team up to defeat the animal and in the end they do and try to meet up with each other in Ba Sing Se once a month”¬†:)

The End!

‘Kay thanks!

I’d love to see how the ATLA world just as it was going from Energy bending to going into the 4 nations of Water, Earth, Fire & Air and what it was like for the very first folk who became benders and what consequences arose for them as they became different from everyone else. A time where there were plenty of dragons, Flying Bison and other ancient creatures that shared the ATLA world. Perhaps a world that isn’t so populated as the ATLA world is during Avatar Aangs time. More background stories on how settlements became and the challenges that the settlers had to create their homes/villages/cities. I think that the Spirit world would also be very much involved with this ATLA world and events of disharmony arises that creates the first benders to become present amongst the nations

The main plot would be the discovery of the very first Avatar and how that person dealt with their new role and how the populaces & other nations interacted and reacted to having an Avatar for the first time, and their journey within the ATLA world. One of the challenges for the first Avatar is getting folk to understand the role of Avatar and why it’s needed. And the levels of struggle that both the Avatar has in accepting their role and the populaces reaction towards having such a being there to support harmony and equality for all beings. Rather than conflict I would use a disaster – say use several devastating disasters that each nation creates through lack of responsibility for what it’s doing – e.g say a part of the Earth Nation felling forests and not reforesting the land – and vicious storms lash the land and causes huge devastating floods and landslides, wiping out villages and killing people flooding the ocean with sludge that threaten to wipe out many of the sea creatures – creating both on the ocean and land – food shortages creating a breakdown in trade amongst the nations as food becomes more scarce and harder to find. Disasters that urges the Spirit World to work with the physical ATLA world to bring forth the first Avatar to bring back the balance, (in a way reflecting the huge issues we face in today’s world!) to help people be more aware of their actions within their own environments. There would be other people that become close friends of the First Avatar, one could actually be a sibling of the first avatar, say an older brother, who watches out and shows the differences that would be created from such a relationship. Their travels around the ATLA world would offer different wisdoms from each of the nations to solving the disaster crisis and how many solutions can lead to the same answer of correcting the unbalance that has occurred.

Why I would love to see this happen. I love history – it’s what creates us, shapes us and is part of our story, it’s what shapes the events that lead to our present and our future – to be able to see the events that lead up to ATLA would offer us a richer & fuller landscape of characters and events for fans to delve deeper into the ATLA worlds being Perhaps offering fans the opportunity to continue to think and learn from the series that continues to offer us in so many levels.

Christopher

A interesting thing I would like to see as an Avatar fan is a spin-off mini series about the life of Iroh. We would see in this series the major events that played a significant role in the life of Iroh. What was it like to be born and destined to rule? Was Iroh once evil? What was being a general like? How did Iroh respond to his brother taking the throne? What was Iroh and his son’s relationship like? What is Iroh’s relationship with the Spirit World? etc As a huge Iroh fan, I would love for some answers to be revealed about him in a new series. I hope in any upcoming Avatar series though, we will see some glimpses of Iroh.

I would like to see what happens to Azula after ATLA. I would have her find redemption in joining Zuko in search of their mother. She not only turns good but establishes a sanctuary to protect children without parents. By the time of Korra, Azula is legendary for her kindness!

As I see it, Azula would be imprisoned after ATLA, when Zuko goes in search of his mother, Azula would beg to go. Everyone would be mistrustful of her, so Aang would take away Azula’s ability to firebend, just like Ozai. At some point the group would be in grave danger. With great hesitation, and over the objections of everyone, Aang would restore Azula’s abilities and she would validate his good faith in her.

Well, I think the series ended great! Yes, it did leave a cliff hanger but that left an open slot to create a new series…THE LEGEND OF KORRA :D
So i’m excited for THE LEGEND OF KORRA :D (yes, im gunna put that in caps and a happy face after it every time I say THE LEGEND OF KORRA :D) Anyways, this is the series where they should answer unanswered questions such as What happened to Zuko’s mom? or What happened to Azula? using the flashbacks that will relate back to Korra with Aang as her spirtual guide. So basically in this whole ramble of mine I think AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER :D AND THE LEGEND OF KORRA :D go hand in hand and Bryke couldn’t pick a more perfect time to come out with the series. The break kept he fans going by rewatching the series over (because it’s one of those shows that NEVER gets old) or creating fanfics (check out mine DualIdentity on fanfiction.net) or even creating fan art or fan videos. After that autrocity of The Last Shitbender, it definitely brought a spike in views of the shows from my opinion and in reading reviews. Anyways AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER was AWESOME and STILL IS! THE LEGEND OF KORRA WILL BE AWESOME! AND STILL WILL BE WHEN IT’S DONE! BTW, AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER :D was set to be 13 episodes but due to great ratings it continue, who knows maybe (obviously) THE LEGEND OF KORRA :D will continue the same way ;)
Kay, I’m done now…now i’m gunna watch AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER :D !

Well technically they had all 3 books planned out and they just decided to see how well the show would do by airing the first 13 episodes.

I believe it is just presumed because of the big break between 113 and 114, but I think it was said somewhere.

Glad they did the first 13 as opposed to the first 12 as 113 The Blue Spirit is one of the best episodes in book 1.

Korra might be extended but in this case they have the whole story planned out as 12 episodes not they are making 12 to judge reaction to the show

I totally agree with the previous writers!
I want 2 see how Zuko with Aang will restore the peace to the world!!
I mean ! ok zuko became the firelord! but it does mean that the other kingdoms will be easy dealing with fire kingdom!!
they had war for 100 years!!
Will we ever going to know the answer on Zukos question on “Where is his mother & what really happend??”
What about Iroh life? what will happend to Azula!
What about the air temples? Will ever live there again?
Question: the professor from the univerity of earth kingdom! who was burried in the undergoud librady!! Will he ever came out? or is he dead?
    So,,, many questions.
I like the idea of the new episodes with a new avatar(Korra legend)!!! But i truly like the teAM Avatar ..i truly would like know what happend with them..

And we know That Tenzin is continuing on the Air Nomads and Rumors are that he has a son, so I presume they will continue to grow slowly.

According to Nick.com Azula is sent to a mental health facility on a fire Nation Island to be monitored around the clock.

The other questions We won’t know until maybe Korra or another series.

i dont know how true this really is, but i had heard that after ozai was talking to his father, (at the time) fire lord azulon about rejecting Iroh in having the throne because he had lost his son Lu Ten and therefor nobody to replace him as fire lord. then ozai had talked to ursa and stated something along the lines of “if you do not help me become next fire lord, i will endanger azula and zuko.” (from young azula telling zuko that dads going to kill him) (and ursa waking zuko up saying zuko, everything that i have done was to protect you.) then out of no where, ozai became fire lord. thinking that MAYBE ursa had murdered fire lord azulon. something to consider.

It was great to read all of the creative ideas! I can see that everyone (including myself) is beyond eager to get the next season started!! Only a few more months!! Aggghhh!!! I myself would love to see a few stray ends tied up with ATLA…. even if they just did like an hour long one-shot to let the fans know as Aangfan said, what happened to the gaang, what kind of hardships did they face after the defeat of Ozai and restoration of order in the four kingdoms. I also would love to hear more about Iroh, as I too am a huge fan!! And of course….. Zuko’s MOM!!! I really hope they address some of these issues in Korra! November, guys!!!!! :)

I think it would be interesting to see an evil Avatar. Roku had the opportunity to join Sozin but chose not to. I can easily see an Avatar abusing his/her power.

I would really like to see something about the origins (or the future) of the Order of the White Lotus. Since their society “Transcends the division of the four nations,” it’s possibly that they’ve been around since the time before the Avatar.

It’d also be cool if there was once a war between humans and spirits. Something like the war between the gods and titans in greek mythology. This would be a great setting for the origin of the first Avatar, since the Avatar is the “great bridge guy.”

On an entirely unrelated note: Korra will likely have an animal guide like both Aang and Roku had. We’ve seen Sky Bison, Dragons, and Badger Moles, but we’ve yet to see an animal that can waterbend.

Well that is because each nation learned to bend their element from an original source

    Air-Sky Bisons

    Fire- Dragons
Water- not an Animal but The Moon

I think the Unagi comes closest to being a waterbending animal, with its awesome Water Gun attack.

I would love to see a new season of the “the legend of aang” because I grew to love the characters from that series and would like to see them all grown up and to see how the avatar world in reconstruction process after aang defeated the pheonix king and zuko became the firelord. I want to see how they solved the problems of trying to get the water tribes and earth kingdom to accept the fire nation back into their lives peacefully because I’m sure there was some major resentment torwards the fire nation after all that the destruction they caused because of the war. I want to see more of katara and aang as a couple. Also, I want to see some of the plotpoints at the end of the series were resolved.

At the same time, I’m very excited about the “the legend of korra”. It will be interesting to see how an avatr from the water tribe will react to the problems she encounters because aang was a very peaceful person due to the way he was raised by the air nomads. She will probably fight more than trying to solve her problems peacefully like aang but she is the avatar so her duty is to keep peace. I can’t wait to see tenzin and watch the character’s sharacter development throughout the mini series. By far the thing I am most excited about seeing is how team avatr afected the world and changed it for the better.

My dream series would have to be about the first avatar and how he/she became the avatar and how the world reacted to him/she explaining what her duty was. Also, I would like to learn more about the avatr spirit.

I would have to choose a continuation of the “the legend of aang” over the other two because I just loved everything about that series.

My dream series would be book 4, air.
I’m curious about zuko’s mother, aang’s parents, and the dragon egg. But I’m REALLY curious about what happened to the airbenders and are they really extinct? The dragons aren’t, the sun warriors aren’t, and the avatar came back so maybe the airbenders will too.
Aang and appa are connected by invisible strings so aang is still connected to his people which will allow him to eventually find them.
The airbending fighting style is avoid and evade air is mostly invisible and the air nomads successfully detached themselves from the earth. But what if they LITERALLY detached themselves from the earth and reestablished their civilization in the clouds, like the film castle in the sky. Or they survived the same way aang did.
Air is my favourite element so I really want the next series to be all about air.

I have to agree with Kuruk. I would like to have a season 4 with the original characters because there are so many unanswered questions. Also, I’m not too excited about the whole technology improving idea for Legends of Korra. One of the things that I liked a lot in the Avatar series was the creative uses of bending to substitute for the ways that we do things today. I like the ice and earth gates (Northern Water Tribe, Omashu, Ba Sing Se, etc.) and I also like the air gliders. Some other examples include hot-air balloons, Sokka’s submarines and Katara’s water helmet thingy on Appa, and swampbenders’ boat propellers.

i like all the ideas but i think it would be more interesting if Azula escapes from prison and she builds a rebellion to make the whole world back as it was when her father was firelord she would manage to take control of an air temple and rebuild it to her disire once she has the wepons and vehicles she will go after Mae,Tylee and especially his brother, Meanwhile zuko is looking for his mother when one of his men warns him that azula escaped he goes back to find aang and get the gaang back together to save the world one last time i guess the title would be Avatar:into the inferno

I like this idea too, but it doesn’t seem very plausible to me, as Azula pretty much flipped her lid at the end of the season…. I’m not sure she would have the emotional capacity to be able to rise up from the ashes and build this huge, threatening rebellion….Could she learn to tame her impatience and inane desire to rule at all costs long enough to create a tactical plan? Or maybe she just becomes this crazed leader, who, under a small faction of extremists, rises up and is able to build her army out of fear-mongering. (I guess this is sort of how she was pre-breakdown) — Either way, I would definitely watch your idea for a season! :)

Hmm it’s been a while since this was commented on but I wanted to get my 2 cents in.
I feel my dream season of ATLA would depend on how dark they want to go with Korra. Is it possible there was a devious reason behind the deaths of our beloved characters? How has these “Antibenders” come to fruition and power?

All I’m saying is there are scenarios that they could explore in Korra that could bring about all new questions about the later years of the Gaang and give us a look at some of the early years of the older charecters from Korra. kind of a filler and best of both worlds from between the 2 series. hmmmf

ps plz don’t call me an Aang murderer LMAO I just like the darker storylines:)

I absolutely LOVED how the series ended (especially since I’m a Kataang fan). A new season would be nice, but Bryke gave us The Promise, so they are practically giving us another season, so…

Besides the Promise, It’d be cool if there was a special episode that showed the adult Gaang’s everyday lives. And then a series about the Earth Avatar after Korra. He could be, I don’t know, a 15 year old named Kuen. It would be like modern times, since korra’s like the twenties. The Airbenders would be a small group, but still enough to count as a community (like, as big as a small town). He’d be kind of a pushover, intelligent, kind of awkward yet supportive and level-headed. He’d have a best friend who was rash, danger-loving, stubborn, and hot-tempered.
I guess. Just letting my imagination out there. :)

wow i love all these different ideas just poping up. (: well here it goes.
    * dream avatar huh? first things first, like airspeed prime said, the very first avatar. the History of AVATAR. a person finding out not only are they the one person to restore balance to a unperfect world, but also they must master the 4 elements, and keep a peaceful world. thats unbelievable pressure. and how do we know that its even a person to begin with? just like the moon being the first waterbender, maybe this avatar was a alien figure of some sort, not a animal or person but a thing. then the spirits evolved the avatar to a animal then figured out that a person with a spiritual connection is the sure fire way to keep balance and peace in the world.
    * second point. i would love to see A:TLA growing up. i hate the gap from them as kids defeating ozai to only elderly katara and zuko still alive. like really? what happened to aang toph and sokka?! we all know that everyone has had children but what about sokka? all we really know it that he was on the council when Yakone was tried. but thats literally it. i would like to see more of that. and you know between their 20′s- 50′s. how was parenting for them? who did toph choose to be lin’s father? what about aangs and kataras relationship with him being the avatar, and a husband (assuming the got married) and father? is zuko and mai still together? and is that who the current fire lords mother is?
*and lastly LoK. it seems like alot of people dont want to see the same “lets go to all the nations on crazy adventures to help aang learn all the elements”. we know that there is going to be alot of spirit world action, but i do hope to see korra expanding her knowledge of the world. she was cooped in the south pole for the longest time, then she got to see, help and rebulid republic city. if i was the avatar, i would keep it going. How much has the North and South pole, and for that matter Ba Sing Se, All of the Air temples, and even the fire nation. im hoping Book 2 isnt just spirit world, then flashback then more spirit world, then 2 mins of reality. that wouldnt be that fun. execption- if LoK is expecting to put more seasons and episodes into this incredible series.
