Avatar The Legend Of Korra, a year away, What we know and expectations.
This topic is to get the communities opinion on the upcoming new series of Avatar. What we think about the information we have so far and what we expect from the final product.
Here are the opinions from our Community.
Airspeed Prime(Moderator/Popular Post Writer)
When I first Heard Rumors of new Avatar I was extremely excited,Why ? because Avatar The Last Airbender is my favorite show ever possibly THE best show ever, about a month later Nick announced Avatar The Legend Of Korra. Once I got over the Shock that all the characters we grew to love from Avatar The Last Airbender would not play any significant roles(Probably only in flashbacks), I was even more excited as we get to see the life of another Avatar, But not just any Avatar the one After Aang. We will see if his influence on the World remained and the creators(Mike and Bryan) have hinted we will see flashbacks or links to Team Avatar’s lives after the end of the series, what many fans have always wanted to know.
Now on to the information, “Â it will be a 12 episode Mini series(planned so far), at first I was wondering “Why only 12 episodes when the first series was so popular and well received ?”, while I still sort of think this I believe that the crew working on Korra can deliver to us an Amazing Mini series, That said they have quite a task to accomplish: Introduce us to all new characters, develop romances, some information on the ATLA gaang and give us an interesting Plot. I have full faith that every Avatar fan will be happy with what we eventually get. Other things that stood out to me were: Aang and Katara’s son Tenzin is going to teach Korra Airbending because KATAANG has produced a cloud baby and kept the Air Nomads alive, the return of many who worked on Avatar The Last Airbender (Sifu Kisu,The Track Team, JM animation etc) and The basic plot we have got is really intriguing because I really want to know why the non-benders are rebelling against the Benders. I am very interested to see what all the new supporting characters are like since Avatar The Last Airbender had such brilliant ones.
We are about a year away from the premiere of Avatar The Legend Of Korra, but already the amount of excitement surrounding it even from casual fans of the show is tremendous. I am looking forward to discussing the build up to Korra almost as much as The show itself(Almost). I really hope that their is a constant stream of information as we have had so far, even if it is only small things as it is keeping everyone super excited for the show. In conclusion, I am confident that the show will be brilliant even if it is only 12 episodes as from everything I have seen so far suggests a superb series. I just can’t wait until fall 2011.

I have to say, I am already quite excited to be watching Korra on my television set a year from now. And although the original Team Avatar is gone, the team behind the scenes of the original series will remain. So we can expect the same great quality of the series prior, right?
In my opinion: YES! Avatar: The Legend of Korra already promises us the same fun and adventure from The Last Airbender. This time around, we will have a new story, and new characters to follow. We are also promised ties to the original series, yet not The Last Airbender all over again.
Even though the Avatar world has changed, I expect Avatar: The Legend of Korra to be just as amazing as Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko’s first creation. I cannot wait!

Well it sounds pretty solid. So, so far, I have good expectations on the Legend of Korra. I like how they are going to make it even more realistic on the conflicts of benders and the anti-bendersbecause that’s somethin fairly new that wasn’t in ATLA much.
I also like how they are mixing it up with the main character being female and in a new kind of plot that is a bit more mature and not so black and white.
It will be interesting to see how they go about this new Avatar’s attitude in relation to her environment and friends and enemies she meetsI’m sure there will be plenty of surprises in store for us.

I think Avatar The Legend of Korra will be five stars out of five. Why? Well are my top 5 reasons why
1. Finally us females get to watch a t.v show that’s leading role is a female!
2. We get to watch a girl kick butt! Even Male butt!
3. We can watch Tenzin (Aang & Katara’s child) and Katara. Well, Katara will dead by then. Oh well! She’ll probably be refered to though.
4. We get to see the people who will teach Korra her elements.
Finally! All you guys have been waiting for my 5th reason. Here it is:
5. We get to see how the ATLA world has developed over a supposedley “70 years.” We get to meet new people, new places You get the point, right? ETC.
Those are my thoughts on Avatar The Legend of Korra.
<P.S- Airspeed Prime told me not to just say “OMG IT’S AWESOME” but I can’t help myself! OMG IT’S AWESOME!!!!!”Â
!!!!
[I had a feeling Zoeeeee would do this]

My opinion on Legends of Korra is that some people will have some trouble watching this, the reason why I say this is because Avatar fans are going to miss watching Avatar:TLA. But I think Mike and Bryan will redeem themselves by getting that fanbase back and hopefully bring in some new ones.
I think the setting and what has been shown so far is overall my favorite, they are bringing some of the original actors back, for example Dante Basco and I hope they bring back more, and show some more teasers, I think that will please everyone. Overall I think its going to look great, just wish it was sooner.

Avatar the Legend of Korra was announced on July 22 and caused a stir of excitment for many Avatar Fans. Even with so little information and its long awaiting release, Korra has become very popular among fans of all kind.
Personally I think the show will go very well, considering it’s by Mike and Bryan and that they are writing all the episodes. This may lead to a dialogue that stays consistent and similar, which i think is good so the show stays on track. I also think it’s good that the show has one main setting, Republic city. It may not be like the original show we all know and love, but its only a mini-series so far and this is good for it. To me the City seems to be very mixed in culture and more steampunk type technology, which could make the story appear dark. They had said the show will have a darker tone to it and this could be why
When It comes to characters I’m personaly excited that Korra, the new avatar, is a female. Not because I am one, but that the creators acknowledge the strong female characters as well a male, including katara, Toph and plenty others. Although I think this may lead to a more female audience, hopefully the guys will think its cool too. Korra seems like a great avatar, already mastering 3 elements by the age range of 16-19 about. Also I’m intested to see more news on Tenzin, Meelo, and the possible character Wei Bei because you cant have a good show without really supportive minor characters. It builds up the realism and makes it more appealing.
The fighting style seems cool, with the info we have from the line test of Korra fighting. It looks very creative, very strong, and appealing to watch. It seems as if the show will also acknowledge regular fighting styles other than bending itself, for the bending revolt may cause an upstir and have fights with non-benders.
To sum up I have high hopes and expectations for this show to go very well and be very appealing. Since its not coming out until next year they should have some time to perfect mistakes and to work hard on it. I’m not a animator though so i wouldnt know how long it really takes to do this. Still I can’t wait and I am happy to see that the A:TLA series will live on!

Avatar the Legend of Korra – I’m really exited but also nervous about seeing ATLK – we know it will NOT be ATLA and we know that it’s a completely new cast one of my concerns is how fans will react to the huge changes that the crew have done, will fans be open minded enough to appreciate the new direction that the ATLA franchise crew are taking or will it be an uproar of negativity like the TLA movie created? Will fans be able to keep their expectations from blocking the opportunities that the Korra storyline/experience can take us too?
What do I expect from ATLK – perhaps the emotions and experiences that I got from ATLA or similar or even better though not sure how it could be any better, but one never knows! I love plot twists and character developments on all levels, not just the main players but some of the lesser characters too. Amazing scenery, sound and background music, and all the other yummy things that make up the ATLA/ATLAK world and keen to know how different the Steampunk hinted world will dominate this if at all. Thoughts of the Northern Air Temple episode offered us a glimpse of this perhaps?
We are getting little snippets of info on Korra and her world and with endless storylines to go from or work with it creates for me a more intense wanting to have it now rather than waiting a year But know that if it takes longer then it will be worth the wait!

ATLA is really the only TV Show i’ve ever watched from beginning to end, every other show I just lost interest after 2-3 episodes.” So the main reason I’m excited for Korra is that more or less the same team that created ATLA is back in action with something new, fresh, exciting, and it’s a story from the Avatar world!” I was worried there would never ever be a show of similar quality to ATLA, but now with ATLK there is hope for an amazing show on the horizon.
I can’t wait to see what the creative team behind ATLA comes up with next, suffice to say, if ATLK is half as enjoyable as ATLA it will be very worthwhile.” It’ll probably be hard for them working in the shadow of ATLA which was such a great accomplishment, with ATLA Mike, Bryan, and the rest of the team we’re on a mission to prove something.” When I interviewed Jeremy Zuckerman (composer) he mentioned they were being “thrown into the fire” so to speak.” With ATLK they’ve already proven their amazing talent, now it’s up to them to do it again and hopefully make something as good or even better.
So to sum up, anticipation for ATLK for me is huge, it’s going to be way exciting to see the Avatar world at a different point in the timeline.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this! I am also looking forward to the new, slightly steampunk, version of the Avatar world. I know I’m gonna love this show no matter what. I’ve got all three seasons of Avatar on DVD and I intend to buy the box set of Korra when it releases in early 2012. The only thing that I was disappointed about when Korra was announced, although I’ve gotten over it now, is the time frame. Ever since “Sozin’s Comet–Part Two: The Old Masters” I’ve been wanting to see the Avatar world before the Avatar existed, like what the lion turtle was talking about. I had this hope that Korra would be the very first Avatar who created the four different Bending arts, and therefore separated the world into the Four Nations we know it as today. I’m still gonna love Korra, but if (for some strange bizarre reason) Bryke decide to do a third show (which, as much as I love Avatar, that’s just too much), I would go with that. I don’t know, maybe they can glimpse at it in the new intro for Korra.

Would love this too Inferno320, and this is one of the great things about the ATLA world, there is soo many options and storylines that can bounce off into any direction and still give us the ooooo or woah factor!
I can’t wait and really do hope that like the orginal, began set for 12 episodes and finally concluded at 61 for the series, then had some wonderful offshoots, like the online comic and the cute little bending battle and school shipping….

I don’t think that the avatar was the first benders because what about oma and shu because in the “cave of two lovers” the scripture in the cave said they were the first earthbenders by learining it from the badger moles. And later on we learned that the sun warriors were the first firebenders in the episode “the firebending masters” as well as in the same episode aang told the group that the first airbenders learned from the sky bison. Also, in the episode “the siege of the north pt 1″ princess yue said that the first waterbenders watched the moon push and pull the water so they can became the first waterbenders. It would be cool to see how the first avatar came about and how he figured out about being the avatar, I’m pretty sure that aang was 1001 avatar so wouldn’t the first avatar be an airbender. Maybe he became very spiritual and entered the spirit world where a spirit told him about being the avatar.

Airspeed Prime Reply:December 6th, 2010 at 3:03 am
YOu are correct.
Waterbenders learned to bend by studying the Moon
Firebenders learned from the Dragons
Airbenders Learned from the Sky bisons
Earthbenders learned from the Badgermoles
But Energybending was before the Avatar and the 4 bending disciplines stem from it. The First Avatar would be a great story to tell, how the spirits decided that the world needed someone to keep balance.
A thing I am not sure of is the Avatar POST Oma and Shu ? i am inclined to say yes because we know they are the first Earthbenders, so they must be Before the First Avatar.
It would be cool if the First Avatar Learned from Oma,(since Shu died in that war)

Interesting read.
One thing I don’t understand, and maybe it’s because I am a guy, is the excitement that the main character is female. In ATLA, Katara had pretty much an equally prominent role in the show as Aang did so I don’t see it as being much different. Yes, Aang was the Avatar and Katara was the friend but now we just have Korra as the Avatar and Tenzin as the friend. I suspect that Tenzin will be just as prominent (or almost nearly as prominent) a character as Korra.
I’m not against having a female lead character, I’m just saying I don’t think it will be much different from ATLA.
Definitely CANNOT wait a year for this.

I definitely agree with you. The fact that a girl is the lead character doesn’t change that much compared to the other show. The main focus on the story was never just about Aang even though he was the main character. There was still some backstory on the other characters like Katara and Azula. Not only that but the females of ATLA were just as good a fighters as Aang and the other male characters. Like Katara, Suki, Azula, Mai, Ty-lee , Toph, Kyoshi and Hamma (I’m not sure if she counts).
KoO, I’m a girl and I don’t get it either. I still think it’s good to have Korra as the main character but it doesn’t change that much gender-wise.
And, yeah, LOVING the looks of this show. Can’t wait to see it!

Admin / Jordash Reply:February 14th, 2011 at 9:28 pm
Yeah i’m a guy and i’m actually kind of excited that the main character is a girl. It’s also definitely true what you said ATLA put equal emphasis on both genders throughout the show and i’m sure it’ll be similar in Korra.

Besides the movie wasn’t trash, it just wasn’t what everyone was expecting (especially fans of the show). MNS had a lot of work in the first one because he had to introduce all the characters and what bending of the elements were and the war all in a short amount of time so people who didn’t watch the show would know what was going on. He only had so much time so that’s why the movie felt rushed, he didn’t have nearly as long as the show did to do all of the things he had to put cram it all in an hour and half (granit it could have been longer). I think the next movie will be much better once noah has a little more acting training. Overall, good movie.

Completely agree, EXPECTATIONS that is the key word people were expecting way too much from the movie. It did have a lot o live up to do, but i think it did a good Job, Book 1 was always going to be the problem one as it is all over the place, If Book 2 gets made it should make for a much better movie.

In The Art of the Animated Series book, Bryke reveal Aang’s original pet, a polar bear dog type thing. They say how it never got into the show, but they’ve always wanted to find a place for it. My guess is that this will be Korra’s pet, if she even has one. And she should have one, because I think that was one of the ways the show brought us back into our own world, where we have and love pets.

Another thing I wonder about is…will dragons have breeded back into masses? In ATLA, there were two dragons left in all the world…it was never 100% clear whether one was female and the other male…otherwise they could not have bred lol…unless of course that golden egg in the Firebending Masters was to be a baby dragon lol. If they bred..in Legend of Korra..will be interesting to see how they may play a role in that generation.

It does make sense, Ran and Shao are Red and Blue, the golden Egg according to Zuko is alive and has a heartbeat, so its is reasonable to presume it is a dragon egg, and mix red and blue=purple, and The Sun Warriors laid many traps to protect it so is must be very important.
I would not be surprised if there was a Purple Dragon In Korra

I have been dying to see the new season ever since I first heard about it. I wonder what will happen to the sky bisons and flying lemurs after appa and momo died because as far as I could tell from the last airbender there were no clues or hints as to whether there were any other sky bisons or lemurs around. I assume the firenation wiped them all out to but I was always curious as to how momo was still alive because we never saw any other lemurs at the air temples throughout the show and I’m almost posotive appa was the last sky bison because in “appa’s lost days” when he was at the circus the head of the circus introduced appa as the flying buffalo which he said hasn’t been seen by the human eye in 100 years. I think that the sun stone that the sun warriors had was a dragon egg because zuko said himself that it felt almost alive and there were two dragons left (possibly male and female). That would be cool to see the dragons make a comeback and if they did maybe zuko and mai’s son/daughter (if we see him/her because wouldn’t he/she be the new firelord) could pick a dragon to be a life partner like how aang had appa or avatar roku had fang. I’m also curious is to see how technological advances have been made in the 70 years since a:tla. Keep the awesome posts going!

In the commentary for “The Western Air Temple” episode, Bryke said how they had this idea that one of the times Haru, The Duke, and Teo went off, they found a bunch of lemur-bats (aka “momos”). So I’m sure there are still other lemur-bats around each temple. Also, Momo is actually Gyatso’s reincarnation. That’s why he appeared before Aang in the Southern Temple. As for Appa, he really was the last of his kind. So once Appa dies, no more sky bison.
Reply
rocky Reply:December 5th, 2010 at 2:22 pm
Oh never knew momo was the reincarnation of monk gyatso but we never saw another lemur at any of the temples throughout the show but I guess there are more because I remember that in “the waterbinding scroll” the captian of the pirates said to aang that he’s never seen such a fine specimen of lemur before(referring to momo), which leads me to believe that he has seen them before. I really need to get the seasons on dvd with commentaries because all I have are some copies I got from a friend which look like some were recorded right off of the tv set somehow. Sad about the sky bison though.

Nexxxa Reply:January 27th, 2011 at 10:07 am
Even though I do believe Appa was the last of his kind, it’s not a far stretch to imagine that not all of the Air Nomads or sky bison were exterminated. It is possible that upon seeing the genocide that was being committed, some of the air nomads went into hiding, taking 1 male and 1 female sky bison with them. All we know is that Aang was the last fully realized Air Bender. After the war, who’s to know what happened? I believe some went into hididng and came out after the war and in Korra we will see that a few managed to survive.
Just like discovering the last 2 dragons, we can’t always assume things are what they appear.
I am so happy that ATLA is making A comeback!!! Who knows maybe they will do a season with all the different nations through the avatar cycle.

I don’t think that the male fans are dissapointed about the main character being female, it doesn’t really matter to me (a male) either way. Most of the fans are just extatic to see the new miniseries. I felt like in atla that katara and toph were just as important to the series as aang was so tenzin should have as much importance to the series as korra will. I’m sure there will be other strong male and female roles throughout the series other than korra and tenzin just as atla did with toph and sokka. I mean come on atla would have not been nearly as good without the personality those characters brought to the show.

The Order of the White Lotus will still be around. We may just see hints of it though like we did at first in ATLA. Remember we didn’t really even know what it was until “The Old Masters”. Remember it’s a “secret society”, so even if you don’t see them that doesn’t mean they’re not around.

Yea the Order of the White Lotus will live on for sure and I’m sure Zuko became a grand Lotus passed down from his uncle Iroh..and perhaps some of the other gaang became pivotal aspects in it too. After they conquered Ba Sing Se..it was, of course handed back to the Earth king.

It will be weird to see how korras parents will have an influnce on her if like monk gyatso’s influence on aang, I have a feeling her parents will be the main reason why she is so rebellious. I assume her parents or grandparents will have been from northern water tribe since paku traveled to the southern water tribe with some other water benders to rebuild it at the beginning of book two so it will be interesting to see what it looks like if they show it. I also want to see the new city and if it was built around ba sing se, I would assume. Wonder if her and tenzin will get together. Overall dying to see the new show, keep up the awesome posts everyone.

There is a thread in the Korra section about Korra’s parents, some good stuff there.

so how does a cloud baby become? for the death of aang so late and his son so young, it doesn’t add up

@ Darnell…. From the info we’ve managed to gleen, Tenzin – Avatar Aang & Katara’s son, is Korra’s Sifu for Airbending – he isn’t the same age as Korra, it’s been hinted that he is alot older – more like a parent figure rather than a friend or love interest – but this could be just misinfo, so until the official stuff comes it will be all guess and hearsay till another fat juicy piece of info gets accidentally released… lol…..

ok which would make sense. even tho katara and aang had children, what about sokka and suki? like there should be somethin within that too. maybe another girl to be the comic relief like sokka was?

If you guys see that first pic up there (the one with Korra going in Avatar state and other avatars around her), you see Roku on right, Kyoshi on left, and the person directly behind Korra must be Aang who is sporting an awesome Asian mustache and goatee. I think its Aang because he has the same necklace from Zuko’s coronation.
Sorry if this was already pointed out

is there any expectancy on how much of korra early and late years as avatar will be depicted?

Admin / Jordash Reply:December 9th, 2010 at 3:33 pm
Haven’t heard anything on that, one thing we do know for sure is that there will be flashbacks to Korra’s early childhood as Dee Bradly Baker’s (Momo, Appa) daughter has been cast as Young Korra. And ironically her name is Corra.

Well as for predictions, we have no way of knowing how good
A:TLoK will be. So what I read here can only be said to be hopes.
They are the very hopes I have, but they are still only hopes.
Still, if the miniseries can live up to what is written here
(basically that it’ll be different but everyone will love it
anyway) then hooray! =) For my own part I hope that the miniseries
isn’t just a rehash of parts the old A:TLA, being made entirely of
flashbacks and stuff we already know. One of the things that people
loved the most and that stole our hearts with the original series
is that we were discovering the world and all its cultures along
with the characters. Everything was well thought out and well
executed. This new miniseries *must* break new ground if it is
going to be as good as the old. A simple idea is of the changes
that energy-bending will have on the world. Will there be new
branches of benders devoting themselves to manipulating inner
energy? Will it amplify or change the bending that already exists?
Something like this could definitely be written into the existent
anti-bender plot.*(see bottom for continuation of idea) These are
the kind of changes and evolutions I will be looking for and, to be
honest, the fact that the entire miniseries is based around a
single city and a single anti-bender movement worries me a little.
It might break the scope set by A:TLA. The important thing is to
keep it, but still create the kind personal connections everyone
formed with A:TLA characters. A very difficult, tricky thing to do,
but I have faith. They’ve done it before and they can certainly do
it again. =) =========================== *Perhaps some evil benders
use energy bending to influence people, taint their spirits so that
they too become evil. The effect this has on the population could
cause fear and disgust towards bending – imagine the person you
love, who you share a bed with and raise your children with,
changes from one day to the next as the very essence of who they
are is corrupted, twisted until all that remains is an aberration,
a husk.

Question: Being a guy, I do like my violence. I was just a
touch dissapointed how Aang was so passive aggressive. Do y’all
think that Korra will be involved in more conflict than
Aang???

Well from the line art Korra seems alot more combative. She almost seems like Zulus fighting style.

Okay, this is a bit of topic. But, that picture, the one on the top where it has Korra. The one where she is bending Water and Fire–those people behind her, for me…they sort of look like Suki (Left), Sokka (Right) and Aang (At the top).

Admin / Jordash Reply:January 5th, 2011 at 5:59 pm
I believe they are actually previous Avatars, Avatar Kyoshi (Left), Avatar Roku (Right), and Avatar Aang (Top)
But you’d have to ask the fan-artist to be sure.

I did get a small bit of information from Dee Bradley Baker. I asked him if Korra would still have the same kid-friendly life-lesson quality as ATLA and he said, “As far as I can tell. Yes.”

I heard that in ATLK, Toph might still be alive since earth benders live longer than any other type of benders (king bumi for example). Does anyone know if this is true?

Admin / Jordash Reply:January 16th, 2011 at 11:46 pm
I don’t think so. Andrea Romano said it would be an entire new generation. But things could change.

Oh okay. It would of been kinda cool if she were still alive though…

My favorite part of the original show was in Ba Sing Se, and it looks like this series is drawing a lot from those couple of episodes. It will be interesting to see if the Order of the White Lotus plays a part in the story. I want to see an entire anarchist sect of “Blue Spirits”. And hopefully we see more energy bending, because I thought it was sort of odd that they added something that important at the VERY end of the LAST episode. Whoever Dante Basco’s character is, he should have green fire. That would be sick.
There should also be some sort of alternative airbending style. Seeing as how earthbending-metalbending, waterbending-bloodbending, firebending-lightning. They need something for airbenders too.
I vote lightbending, because I’m convinced that that’s what Combustion Man was (a lightbender). After all, the guru said that the light chakra is in the center of the forehead. It would be cool to have lightbenders who, along with Combustions Man’s exploding ability and zoomed vision, could bend light around them to become invisible.
Bring back Ko! (Co? Koe? Cho?) He told Aang, “We’ll meet again” in season 1, and we never saw him after that (unless you count Avatar Kuruk’s flashback). I guess he could have meant “We’ll meet again in another life”, in which case, someone in TLoK should definitely lose their face.
And finally, I think Republic City is what used to be the Northern Air Temple (expanded down the mountain, obviously). After all, the Mechanist was sort of leading the way in the whole steam technology, and based on the image Nick released, it looks like the same climate.

Nexxxa Reply:January 26th, 2011 at 12:01 pm
I was thinking same thing for Republic City being either Northern Air Temple or Ba Sing Se, since it seemed like it was pretty much destroyed in ATLA and could have been rebuilt.
I am left wondering about a few things. Team Avatar seems to have all died very young in comparison to the older folk that were part of the original series.
Also, Korra has already mastered all but 1 element by age 16? In ATLA, Aang was the first one who was told before his 16th birthday he was the Avatar, solely due to the war and was forced to quickly learn how to bend all the elements. Avatar Roku seemed to have taken years to master each art of bending, and it is mentioned in ATLA (i forgot which episode) that it takes years to learn all of them. So it just seems like the creaters are trying to replicate the tension and the feeling of “time is running out” from the original series. I hope it works for this one.
One last thing. Since Korra is from the Southern Water Tribe, I wonder if she will be a direct descendant of Sokka. Could be his grandchild?

No, for all we know so far Team Avatar probably died of regular causes (Old Age)

What about the good guys that died just like Star Wars Episode III that Darth Vader and the Clone Troopers kill all the Jedis except Obiwan Kenobi & Yoda?
Is it a similar possible connection?
Reply
Admin / Jordash Reply:January 25th, 2011 at 11:29 pm
Iit’s possible, but we’ll find out when Korra comes out probably. The way Mike and Brian are talking about it, i’m thinking most of Aang and Gang died peacefully but we don’t have any solid word on that yet.
I heard a rumor that Azula is still alive… and I heard an another rumor that her grandchild(ren) will be the antagonist(s) in the series. O.O
Does it seems like she and/or grandchild(ren) might run the Anti-Bender Revolution?
Reply
Admin / Jordash Reply:January 25th, 2011 at 11:30 pm
Do you have any links for those rumors? Sounds kind of interesting but I doubt Azula is alive, it’s been confirmed that this is an entirely new generation, so all old characters are passed on. Aang will return in Spirit form, and we’ll probably see other characters in flash-backs.

ziblef Reply:January 30th, 2011 at 8:15 pm
wouldn’t azula be in jail?
i mean we see her last chained to a pole being all emo n’ stuff and then
(im betting) she was jailed
for all we know, she couldve been executed.
also wouldn’t azula not have grandchildren if she is completely deprived of everything after aang kicks all of their ***es? really i doubt that is true in any way

Oh my goodness… One has to wonder who would be crazy enough to get near Azula, let alone reproduce with her… That will be one heck of a twist. The man will have to be pretty demented.
Airspeed Prime Reply:February 17th, 2011 at 2:45 am
Interesting rumors but they contradict Andrea Romano who said it is the next generation everyone is dead.
That said they are only rumors but some of them have been confirmed or heavily hinted at.
Tracy Reply:February 17th, 2011 at 9:29 am
Grrr… I know. Enquiring minds want to know. I want to scream. “SOME CLUES PLEASE!” But they won’t give. But it just builds to the excitement. I can see how non-benders would begin to resent benders, though. It makes sense, who wouldn’t want awesome bending powers, look at how Sokka felt when he said how amazing Toph, Katara, and Aang were when they took care of that meteor. I’m sure many people felt that way. Hmmm…. *Sensing own chapters*
Admin / Jordash Reply:February 17th, 2011 at 5:01 pm
Yeah the Azula statement is probably false, I haven’t seen any solid proof that Azula is still alive in Korra.
The other info on there is pretty legit like Airspeed mentioned.
Looking forward to

-Republic City
-Asami
