Some New information on Avatar The Legend of Korra, Mini Series, Cabbage Man
Our friends over at UGO.com were able to interview Avatar creators Mike and Bryan” at the San Diego Comic Con to get some fairly revealing information about the up and coming installment in the Avatar Universe, Avatar The Legend of Korra, read the interview below:
- As mentioned , the cabbage merchant will not appear, but “his legacy will be present in some form.”
- As an evolution of the first series, The Legend of Korra will have more sophistication to it, but still keep the humor, fun hybrid animals, and action.
- It won’t cover more mature subject material necessarily, just different mature subjects.” “It won’t be another war, but a different sort of conflict.”
- On whether or not we’d see a love interest for Korra: “We love that stuff.” We’re total cornballs, we love cheesy teen romance.” Rest assured, there’s plenty or romance happening in the story, but it’s the same balance of ingredients that we like.”
- Katara IS in fact the mother of Aang’s offspring, who will be central to the show.” “We didn’t mean for it to be a big super-secret, that they end up together.”
- On the persecution of Airbenders being compared to the X-Men registration act: “We’ll see something like that, but in sort of a different structure.”
- Will it be a very different world from where we left off?” “Yes and no, the world has definitely changed, and evolved, and advanced, but we’re very conscious of keeping the same feeling.” Not totally different, but it’s definitely generations later.“
- “There will definitely only be one Avatar at a time, and it is Korra.”
- So will Aang have any kind of presence?” “Yes…in his way.”
- DiMartino and Konietzko will continue to work with Joaquim Dos Santos and Ryuki Hung, working to improve the design and animation.
- The Legend of Korra will in fact be a mini-series, with Michael and Bryan directly writing each episode.
- “As a mini-series, it’s going to be really tight.” While we really love the filler episodes, those are some of our favorites, this thing is just lean and mean.” It’s a really cool driving story.”
Looks like Legend of Korra is starting to take shape more and more.

There has been talk on other sites of November of 2011, however that is not confirmed at all, many speculate sooner than that, suffice to say it wont be after November 2011.
There hasn’t been an official release date announcement yet.

Slightly concerned about them referring to it as a mini-series, but I guess I can’t complain considering we’re getting SOMETHING when we might not have!

I thought I read somewhere that she has already mastered the other water, earth, and fire and that the series will somewhat revolve around her mastering airbending from katara and aang’s son, tenzin is that true, and if so will her teachers travel with her like aangs teachers did? I can’t wait to see some more cool bending moves. I hope they show the airbending move aang did in book 2: the crossroads of destiny where he made an air blast that was in the shape of a person at zuko, that was probably my favorite move throughout the series and they only showed it once. I also thought it was cool how aang put out fielord ozai’s fire when he was flying around in book 3: avatar aang. The video clip they have of korra fighting looked awesome but it didn’t really look like she was bending. (At least what I saw). I wonder if zuko’s kid (the new firelord, I assume) was her fire bending teacher because in book 3: the avatar and the firelord, avatar roku said that some friendships are so strong that they can even extend lifetimes. What I’m most curious is to find out the reason people don’t want there to be bending anymore or why they don’t want the avatar arounf to keep balance in the world.
