About Avatar The Legend of Korra
Officially titled “The Legend of Korra” this new series is set 70 years after the events that occurred with Aang and crew in Avatar The Last Airbender. The series features a young Avatar in training named Korra who is the next Avatar after Aang.
The Legend of Korra Book 1 – Air
In Book 1 of The Legend of Korra, Korra has already mastered Water, Earth, and Fire under the training of the White Lotus. She then begins her Airbending training under Tenzin who is Aangs son, and lives in Republic City, a city which was setup by Aang and Zuko. Korra quickly realizes that things in Republic City are not all well and that her duties as an Avatar will be tested against Amon, the mysterious leader of the “Equalist” movement which threatens to throw Republic City into all out war.
The Legend of Korra Book 2
Not much is known about the second installment of The Legend of Korra franchise. Find all that we know so far about The Legend of Korra Book 2.
Airdate is unknown but according to series creator Bryan Konietzko it is under 2 years away.
More Korra Episodes
26 more episodes have been commissioned by Nickelodeon. They will presumably be set after the events of The Legend of Korra Book 2, nothing is known about the air date, plot line, etc..
When the 26 episodes are completed it will mean 52 Korra episodes will be aired in all.

- When Will Avatar The Legend of Korra Book 2 Air? – No Concrete Air Date has yet been given, Korra series Creator Bryan Konietzko has informed us that it will be under 2 years
- Will Aang and other Characters be in the Show? – The series is set 70 years in the future so all of the old characters will have passed on, however the results of their life work and other similar occurrences will definitely be seen. Flashbacks and the like have already been seen in Korra book 1.
- Will the Cabbage Merchant be in The Legend of Korra? – A very important question

I am the biggest fan of avatar the last Air Bender in the world and i know tens of people who are fans to and i along with many others dont like the legend of korra I think we should convince the creators to make another avatar tlab season

Just a minor correction: that Bolin guy has a pet Fire Ferret (basically a red ferret) named Paboo, not a lemur. They still have sky bison and flying lemurs though, they just look a’we bit different. For example, the tails of the new lemurs are completely covered in black and white stripes, unlike Momo’s tail, where the black and white stripe pattern is only on the tip of his tail.

No, it was just mentioned that the new species of Lemur was discovered and that they will play a bigger role in Season 2. The Panel news post I wrote up has everything we know about the lemurs.
Bolin will have Pabu/Paboo as his pet, it would be a bit too similar to have another character have a lemur as a pet.

I think I was misunderstood. I didn’t mean to have two avatars at once. What I meant by having elements of the Korra story in an ATLA continuation was not have Korra in it necessarily but to include te plot elements. .

I was thinking if the show will be done quickly it would be great but if not better bacause they could have a lot of time to think about it their very well. Hope the series will be more interesting to watch.

you are right the movie did suck, badly. the people in the movie could have looked more like the people on the show, and the story line could have followed the real story line better. i love avatar the last air bender but the movie really sucked butt.

I understand why Aang has to be gone. Korra cannot exist as the avatar if Aang is still alive, but why does everyone else have to be dead? Boomy (probably spelled wrong) and other of Aang’s friends lived into their hundreds….

Part of it is so that the focus of the show is on the new characters and they are not forced/tempted to constantly bring in older Toph or Sokka.
Katara is alive in Korra, we know that, and I think that is all that is needed really of ATLA characters in Korra.
As for why the rest died much younger than some other characters, Bumi and Kyoshi are the exceptions not the norm, we know of like 3 characters who lived to be over 100: Bumi, Sozin and Kyoshi, technically Aang but physically he was still 12.

I understand why they would have Katara be the one who is still alive. First, i think because of her healing abilities she would live longer just because she possesses that ability. Also the creators would keep her alive since she is a water bender who would help train Korra

Katara is actually still alive and is the head of the water tribe (shown in the first/second episode)
and Dante Basco who voiced Zuko is voicing Zuko’s grandson General Iroh, named after Zuko’s uncle

i think they should continue the korra series, but have multiple flashbacks and korra visiting Aang in the avatar state re-living the moments when aang and katara were young adults in love growing up with children, sokka and his kids (if he has any) toph ect…. the creators would be able to make the korra series soo much more in depth and more episodes if they do that. (:

The number of episodes that ALOK will have isn’t determined by the ideas that the creators have (since the creators have said they have many ideas of Avatar for many books/seasons to come). But by the number of episodes that Nickelodeon wants and will produce.

I NEED MORE AVATAR ON TV AMAZING FIRST INTRO TO KORRA WISH IT WAS SET UP TO GO RITE INTO THE NEXT SEASON TO KEEP THE VIEWERS IF THE WANT TO DO MOVIES THEY NEED TO STICK TO THE ANIME NAMES AND STORYLINES AND HAVE A BAY OR LUCAS TO GET THE SPECIAL EFFECTS TO LOOK REAL … in the movie they made aang push air with little power.. that was a sad attempt and a total lackluster effort on a AMAZING STORY S A D !!

I’ve keep hearing many rumors about an Legend of korra mmo game…. they are saying that they close avatar legends of the arena game because they were gonna make it more korra style(pro bending). I saw a video of this dude showing and explaining how Pro bending rules are with some illustration of a game, but that was used for the game at the end of Welcome to republic city ( and that’s not a mmo game) please if anyone know or have information about this let me know. Thanks

I want season 4 of the avatar, but not about Korra (there Aang had already died, sad ((__) And just want to continue on Aang, and then looked about Korra one series, actually burst into tears, thought there type Katara with Aang be, but there Katara is, and Ang died (in principle as all the characters, which were, in addition to Katara). I think the continuation of the 4-th of the season will be (but not soon): Zuko the MOTHER of the SEARCH WILL be, etc, and then in a series about Korra its sales no. And still I hope (so far:D), that the continuation of Aang will be, at least ten years shall wait very much I used to him)

I like Legend of Korra but not as much as The Avatar The Last Air bender it had more traveling in it and I think hey should had done the same to Korra because all the other avatars had to travel to learn the other elements and all Korra had to do is really learn air bending because in the first episode she already knew water of course fire and earth so whats up with that. And I think for season the rest of the season they should have someone chasing after Korra. I hope they come out with the movie to The Legend of Korra. And i hope they come out with a new avatar series after Korra. It should be another girl called Kitana earth bender and she has to travel to learn the other elements (fire, air, and water).

No idea, they may be waiting until Book 1 and 2 are both aired so they can have a more substantial dvd release.
A Book 1 and 2 set as opposed to a 12 episode set and then a 14 episode set.
They said they consider Book 1 and 2 to be Season 1 of Korra.

The dvd is coming soon and we just assume a Bluray exists, hence why it is only a page for bluray and a preorder for dvd.

To be fair when IGN do not receive the news as an exclusive they usually are behind fan sites on news. They cover so many topics while we cover just 1 so it is understandable.
