In anticipation of the upcoming Avatar The Legend of Korra we have decided to put together a resource page with links to where you can find all of the latest and greatest information about Avatar The Legend of Korra. This page will be updated with official Korra news and information.
Important Legend of Korra Info
Officially titled The Legend of Korra the new series is set 70 years after events that occurred with Aang and crew in Avatar The Last Airbender. Korra who is referred to as a “rebellious” young 17 year old is the current Avatar who at the start of the series has already mastered Waterbending, Firebending, and Earthbending.
She is apparently going to learn Airbending from Tenzin who is Aang and Katara’s Son and the father of a young family.
The conflict in the series surrounds the mysterious Equalist Leader known as Amon who leads an “Anti-Bending” Movement, the events seem to permeate around a relatively modern city known as Republic City.

- When Will Avatar The Legend of Korra Air? – Korra has a confirmed Television Release date of April 14th 2012 with a possible earlier online release date with the challenge completion presented by KorraNation.com (Online versions available will be on Nick.com and Xbox Live)
- Will Aang and other Characters be in the Show? – The series is set 70 years in the future so all of the old characters will have passed on, however the results of their life work and other similar occurrences will definitely be seen.

Should have just continued with Aang and the gang as young adults. Explore Zuko and his reign, what happened to his mother. Develop the Aang, Katara relationship. There was so much story to explore with Sokka and his development and a lot of the elements from the Korra story could’ve just been implemented in a last airbender continuation with Aang.

You are aware that the shows creators Mike and Bryan are the ones who have continued on the story. It is canon.

Just a minor correction: that Bolin guy has a pet Fire Ferret (basically a red ferret) named Paboo, not a lemur. They still have sky bison and flying lemurs though, they just look a’we bit different. For example, the tails of the new lemurs are completely covered in black and white stripes, unlike Momo’s tail, where the black and white stripe pattern is only on the tip of his tail.

No, it was just mentioned that the new species of Lemur was discovered and that they will play a bigger role in Season 2. The Panel news post I wrote up has everything we know about the lemurs.
Bolin will have Pabu/Paboo as his pet, it would be a bit too similar to have another character have a lemur as a pet.

I think I was misunderstood. I didn’t mean to have two avatars at once. What I meant by having elements of the Korra story in an ATLA continuation was not have Korra in it necessarily but to include te plot elements. .

I understand why Aang has to be gone. Korra cannot exist as the avatar if Aang is still alive, but why does everyone else have to be dead? Boomy (probably spelled wrong) and other of Aang’s friends lived into their hundreds….

Part of it is so that the focus of the show is on the new characters and they are not forced/tempted to constantly bring in older Toph or Sokka.
Katara is alive in Korra, we know that, and I think that is all that is needed really of ATLA characters in Korra.
As for why the rest died much younger than some other characters, Bumi and Kyoshi are the exceptions not the norm, we know of like 3 characters who lived to be over 100: Bumi, Sozin and Kyoshi, technically Aang but physically he was still 12.

I understand why they would have Katara be the one who is still alive. First, i think because of her healing abilities she would live longer just because she possesses that ability. Also the creators would keep her alive since she is a water bender who would help train Korra

aang was the coolest he was funny and powerful. they where alot more stories they could have made… i don’t think i will like korra as much as aang!!!! they could have made a new avatar like zuko!!!! or even made some of the people in the fire nation to do a ritual to bring back one of the avatar and make him evil and more powerful than aang or bring a few avatar back and made them evil….. now that’s is going to be action pack… tell me you couldn’t want to see that!!!!

Ofcourse, They are awesome and probably some thing of them will come back in Korra. Which will remember them.
But I think, if we just enjoy Korra as much as we can, it will be a lot more fun to watch it.

Well, I maybe wouldn’t want to see them. I am just fine with Avatar Aand and Avatar Korra. They should make one, later on, about a firebending Avatar, but with a name mixed up with the last two firelords. They should have made one about Avatar Roku, and tell everyone about his life. Everyone knows how Avatar Roku died, right? He died of to much smoke inhalation, right. None of the Avatars should be brought back to life and turn evil, all of the Avatars, expecially Aang, are too nice to be evil. You could make one of your own about the past lives of Korra being evil, and maybe even put it up on this website. I f you ask the admins of the site. I suggest asking Airspeed Prime. I wouldn’t want to see the Avatars turn evil. Just stating my opinion.

Avatar Ang should have had a differnt story in there late 35 and there should have been a differnt problem.
-If not you could have had Ang teach Air bending even thought he probaly can’t do avatar state or bend other elements(Would be cool if he still could bend those elements)

Do the Fire Nations, Water Tribes, and Earth Kingdoms still exsist? If they do will they be traveled to. I know that the southern and northern Water Tribes still exsist because they mentioned them but what about the others.

In a way it has to be like that for the story to work, the story is more mature and deals with conflicting interests over tradition and modernity.
Plus, Bryke really wanted to do something different this time around, that kind of approach is much more interesting and creative. Try to appreciate it

How old was Aang when he died. I did the math and subtracted Korras age minus 70 (the number of years its been sence the end of the first series) and get 54. If Aang was 13 when the first series ended. That makes him 67bwhen ge died but Katara looks like a 90 years old. Am I right or what.

i believe this show has really carried on a lot of attributes from avatar the last airbender, and they did a good job incorporating the same sense of humor, and are building the characters up to be rather enjoyable, hehe
…i was obsessed with the original show when it was on nickelodeon, now im finding myself getting somewhat obsessed with this show as well, tee hee

So I made a wicked Equalists stun glove today only had to spent like 20bucks on supplies. Well im not a bender but I sure can be a chi-blocker. Lol
