Avatar Online Podcast Episode 55 – June 16th 2013

Morgan (Airspeed Prime) is joined by Kelly (Gemini530) for a technical issue plagued episode of The Avatar Online Podcast. Thanks to the power of editing you hear very little of the issues. At last we have Book 2 footage and it is discussed in-depth along with big soundtrack news and more. In listener questions we talk about why we don’t hate Mako and why July is awesome if you are an Avatar fan. Finally 317 The Ember Island Players is discussed fully.

That part at the end of the Korra clip with the spirit disintegrating is really intriguing. Maybe the spirits can’t stay in the physical world indefinitely?

    Great podcast guys!

great podcast! 😀 the ember island players is one of my favorite episodes and i agree that its a good episode to have right before sozins comet.

about E3, did nintendo talk about discontinuing a lot of the internet and channel features on the wii? because they sent a message listing the channels that were getting discontinued as well as other stuff. i hope its not just so people can buy the wii u.

your discussion on mako was pretty good. i dont want to say that i hate him or anything (because the word hate sounds too harsh) but i just really dont like mako besides the fact that he tries to protect bolin. but the whole masami/makorra thing got way out of hand.

    Airspeed Prime Reply:

I don’t think it did, looking at where it starts and finishes, yes mistakes were made. But by the end of Book 1 the relationship stuff is done, and everyone is still friends.
I just cannot understand why so many people seem to hate the shipping stuff so much. They are teens, these things happen.

this episode is okay in my opinion , but i do have a reasons about this episode ,

2 Katara and Sokka look so different

3 the news about this play was spreaded out to the whole fire nation

4 the play was horrible in the gang’s opinion .

Oh gosh, how I do love this episode. (I don’t have much to say about it because it was pretty much all said here, except I laughed so hard when the Fire Nation started cheering at the end, because of course it made so much sense that they would. I also liked that it was so funny at the same time it was kind of a dark moment, and even though the episode was mostly just a funny, kind of silly one [with a few deeper moments placed just right] basically the perfect lead in to the final episodes. Oh, and I also loved the fact Azula was in pink. x3]

On what you were saying on the discussions of the Korra animations clips—I second what you said, taking still clips from animation, naturally the characters will sometimes look strange. (You see a lot of strangeness if you take still shots from ATLA, too.) In fact, if you tape someone moving in live action, depending on what angle you look at the person, they might not look like themselves, or look distorted. Animation is designed to be watched as a seamless whole, so as long as it reads well while it’s moving, that’s what really matters.

The bonus talk at the end—I don’t know too much about playstation or the E3, but I definitely like Pokemon. xD (Sun and Moon came out recently, and I’d already made up my mind to do my first Avatar-themed game for this one, as far as the naming goes. Since I got Moon, I thought of course I had to play with the name Katara. I was a little surprised when I got the chance to change the hairstyle and eye color, and clothing color, just how much the figure in the game really does actually look like her. All that’s missing really is the blue beads and the hair loops.) Also, the Z-attack thing where the character has to do poses and things with their arms to unleash their pokemon’s most powerful attacks looks so much like bending it’s not even funny. (Yes, simple things make me way too happy. xD)
