My name is Morgan Bannon, I am a 22 Year old Male from Ireland and I am the Site Super Moderator. I have watched and been a fan of Avatar since it premiered. I am also a news post writer for the site and host the site's podcast, The Avatar Online Podcast. My strength as an Avatar fan would be just a good knowledge of Avatar Canon and characters.

Thanks so much, I think that pretty much answers my question. (I knew people said that Toph did have a crush on Sokka at one point, but I wasn’t sure if that was coming from somewhere else besides those scenes I remembered.) I think I just have this odd tendency to automatically interpret interactions like those (that don’t one-hundred-percent spell it out) in a non-romantic way for some reason. xD (I’m definitely not against the idea of Toph liking Sokka, but yeah, there isn’t really any canon support for Sokka ever returning those feelings, I think. As far as actual ships go, Sokka-Suki seems the more solidly canon.)

Haha, I’m so glad you brought up the Sokka-is-Suyin’s-father theory. (I was actually going to ask what you thought of that, but I thought the question was getting too long already. xD) I’m pretty much with both of you, seems like it might be possible, but at this point definitely by no means a given. (I didn’t notice the mention about the meteors, for me it was more Bataar Jr.’s hairstyle, which is a little similar to Sokka’s [not that that would mean anything to the characters themselves, as neither Suyin or Bataar knew Suyin's father, but it made me wonder if they were intentionally trying to make a subtle connection there] plus Su’s slightly darker skin tone as compared to Lin.) And it is true that we never meet any children of Sokka’s. (In fact, the only character from the core group from ATLA that we don’t.)

Of course, if it did turn out to be true, it would definitely raise all kinds of disturbing questions…(Such as what happened to Suki. It’s hard to believe they would break up or he would leave her, so the only other explanation would be that she died young. [Unless there's more story to be told in the comics—maybe Zuki will be a thing after all? XD!] And, given the fact that Suyin never knew her father, considering it’s doubtful Sokka would choose not to be involved in his daughter’s life, you’d be left to assume he died young, too.) The alternative explanation that Sokka and Toph had some kind of one-off interlude which they decided to hide seems pretty unlikely, given the target audience of this show. I don’t think they would take the back story in that direction, or at least I hope they wouldn’t.
