Make July 19th a day where all Avatar fans celebrate the end of ATLA by watching the EPIC finale again.

Starting July 19th ”Β it will be the 3 year anniversary of the original airing of the Avatar The Last Airbender Finale, Sozin’s Comet.

Avatar The Legned of Korra Korras Face

Korra will air mid 2012, and we will get more information on the show at San Diego Comic Con

Soon after that on July 23rd will be the Korra panel at San Diego Comic Con, where we will hopefully be seeing out first footage and more images from the new show as well as more information we have waited so patiently for.

Last but not least in Early 2012 we will see the release of post Book 3 Graphic Novels from Dark Horse Comics which will deal with how Aang and Co deal with the aftermath of the war, we may get some information on these at San Diego Comic con too.

All this before Korra Airs mid 2012

But we must start with the first event, 3 years since Sozins Comet parts 1-4 aired and the show ended. I still remember that night well, so much excitement, anticipation and a bit of sadness that the show was coming to an end. Then when I watched it, it was the perfect ending to an amazing series, for 57 episodes we had seen the characters grow and learn so much, it was a fitting ending that still left some things to talk about like: Ursa’s fate and Toph’s Parents (Will be discussed more in the next Community Opinion at the end of the month). It was the greatest four episodes of anything I had ever seen and still is, even now after a further 13 rewatches of the series I still get shivers down my spine and tears forming in my eyes at parts of the finale. It has everything: Drama, Action, romance, epicness in spades and amazing music which just adds to the experience.

Now, for the reason this post is here, we here at”Β http://avatarthelastairbenderonline.com/ want to celebrate this event in style. This event was started by Forum Moderator Kelly, she started this Facebook event:

I have to say I have mixed feelings about this. Firstly, it tugs the heartstrings to have back the avatar world but without the characters we love so much. But then again, after seeing the trailer, there isn’t much of the avatar world left. They’ve done this major modern city/fantasy world hybrid; more modern than fantasy, and if they’re not careful it will butcher the “canon”.
I do, however, want to see The Legend of Korra and have faith in the producers. I just would rather know more of the GAANG’s lives after the war, first…

ps: it’s so nice to meet you avatar junkies!! I feel right at home!

While Aang and his crew will be sorely missed, I am looking forward to the next chapter in the Avatar adventures. I’m quite certain that the A:TLA creators will cause us to love Korra and her crew as much as we love Aang. πŸ™‚
