You might want to edit the bit where you say “Now the issue here is that Book 1 (12) and Book 2 (12) make up 26 episodes. Which leaves 12 episodes unaccounted for.” Since Book 2 has 14 episodes. I’m sure you knew that, just a typing error.

hey I’m just a 17 year old boy living in Suriname, which is in South-America, just so you know, and I can speak 2 languages
eam Avatar will travel to the Southern Water Tribe. They’ll visit a festival with glowing lanterns that warm up the snowscape scenery. Beautiful.
Korra will travel through a storm to find a glowing iceberg. Spirit world? The ice cave looks very reminiscent to the iceberg Aang was trapped in.
We saw concept art of the Southern Air Temple. Inspired by Chinese art, it’s a stone structure enhanced with yellow and orange skies, lush vegetation growing over it.
Book 2 will explore the Spirit World and how the “Avatar” lineage began. Korra will travel into the spirit world and Konietzko hints that there may be episodes later in the season dedicated to exploring the bigger landscape of the Spirit World.
Then we saw some new costumes. Korra will have new threads inspired by Mandarin, asymmetrical fashion. Mako and Bolin will get big, fluffy coats for the frozen tundra that maintain their color coordination (Mako loves that red scarf).
Asami is now the head of her dad’s Future Industries, so she’s gone corporate! Luckily, she has an alternate costume, an airship look that makes her a double for Amelia Earhart.
Book 2 will bump up Bumi, a fan favorite and brother of Tenzin, to a regular character. He’s got a big potbelly which fits his wacky personality.
His sister Kya will also be a regular player. Dubbed a hippie by “Konietzko,” Kya’s big into healing.
Korra’s expanded family will be introduced. The creators mentioned that Korra was inspired by MMA fighter Gina Carano, which explains her build. It also explains why her entire family is ripped.
Book 2 called “Spirits” and takes place six months after Book 1.

The concept of 4 seasons for Legend of Korra would truly be a dream (that I haven’t had) come true. I hadn’t noticed that they used the terms Book and Season differently, making book a subset of season.

The new article by Airspeed Prime cleared this up.
Each season is 26 episodes, and every 2 books has a total of 26 episodes. So neither is a subset of either. ;)

My guess is that each book is going to have a self-contained plot line like Korra book 1 had. A bit different to Avatar where the entire series was surrounding one conflict.

Actually, scratch that. According to Bill Rinaldi, the Legend of Korra team has known that Korra would be 52 episodes beforehand, but of course couldn’t say anything.
However, if Mike and Bryan meant that it was SEASON two that was coming in 2 years and not BOOK 2, then that would be a cruel trick indeed.

Amazing to think that in 2 years the show has gone from being just a 12 episode mini series to 52 episodes.
More than 4 times the number of episodes originally planned.

With this and the comics continuing strong, the Avatar universe is in excellent health, though I am not sure about the health of the fandom right now, we are 2 days away from comic con and this happens, what will happen on Friday.

They surely have to show a book 2 trailer now.

It hasn’t sunk in yet this news but i am sure it will eventually i just don’t think that my mind has comprehended this yet. so what on earth are they going to do at comic-con you would think they would save this news for it but no they just tell us randomly and i wonder how long they knew about this and this opens up so many possibilites

Hey, is there anyone who know what is this mean ?

“The cast also includes Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men), David Faustino (Married… with Children), and P.J. Byrne (Horrible Bosses).” horrible bosses ? Mad Men ? Married ?

    it is from http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/07/11/legend-of-korra-second-season/ tooo

I am late to know about this, I’m happy but I don’t know, I just feel something is going wrong about this, I don’t which is wrong ??

It’s what they have done previously. There roles in other movies/television/etc. Remember, Google is your friend, and the best part about it: it’s absolutely free :)

    yes that’s great

then Korra can become an epic hero as same as spiderman, batman, or etc, spiderman safe new york, batman safe gotham city and korra safe republic city. with not just 1 villain, but there is some another, it just like spiderman and another heros LOL. It is like a same analogy

    Ricardo Reply:

True, but instead of Korra saving Republic City, it’ll be more like the Avatar keeping balance throughout the four nations ;)

ooh, so, that is just done previosly for their roles, but I think before, mako will be married and he has child

That would be a bit fast O.o
Korra and Mako just barely got together in the first Book of ALOK.
David Faustino is known for being in a sitcom called ‘Married with Children’. That’s what that means.

YES!!!!!!!!!! I knew this would happen!! I mean come on, they couldn’t just revive the whole Avatar thing only to create 24 episodes. really??…With the gigantic fan base it was obvious they would be content enough with the views to make more seasons of Korra.
